Hi guys,
I am looking for some good quality reproduction valve covers for my '69 L78 Nova. I see Classic Industries sells sets for around $89 or so, but I assume those are ill-fitting junk. I also see that Heartbeat City sells US-made repops for $495/set.
Does anyone else have a good recommendation for correct appearing dripper valvce covers that would be correct for '69 L78 Nova?
Thanks,
Paul

Crane Corvette (http://www.cranescorvette.com/pr02.htm)
Could be what HBC is offering, don't know for sure.
The last couple sets of these I have used and seen are a little heavy on the copper ?? They almost look like orange peel in paint, but still the best thing out there.
The set I have on my car is over 10 years old, you can see all the draw marks and the chrome is very flat and smooth, and you can see the dripper spot welds.
Maybe some others can chime in ?
Mike
Those are probably the valve covers made by Crane Corvettes. I've bought several sets and have not been disappointed. Not cheap, but worth it to me. These are mede the way GM should have made them.
Some of the repops don't look bad, but will not have the wire clip for the temp sending unit or the bump out in the back for the dripper. Crane's has those features.

Mikey, I guess I was typing the same time as you.
X2 for Cranes..nice pieces
edit: Mike, mine are 7 years old and nice and crisp.

Cranes are really the only ones (though I buy them through Paragon for the same price), the rest are ALL wanabees and are not even close.
Cranes drippers really are the best.
Have them on my 70 for over 20 years & plasti dipped the wire retainers black for a more authentic look.

Ok, sounds like I will be ordering a set of Cranes and plasti-dipping the wire retainers. Thanks for all your comments!
