Looking to buy a small air compressor for our shop...we have a big one at home...just need something for tires, blowing off parts, little stuff. There are lots of choices...thought I would see what you guys are using.

Something like these....not too big so I can move it around...nothing too expensive...simple but reliable. Not sure if any of the small. reasonably priced one are made in the USA..but, that would be a plus.

Whatever is inexpensive and looks like a reasonably decent quality unit on your local Craigslist. Friend bought a Craftsman pancake job for $25 about a month ago.

I bought a small one from Harbor Freight a couple of years ago to blow up tires, etc, for about $50. Has worked well.

Whatever you buy, plug it and let it run till the tank is full. Many of the oiless are so loud you couldn't hear a siren over them.
