We have Voles at my house and I have never had an issue with them till last week when they started living in my Cross Ram. Every day I look and their are black pellets and Peanut shells...what to do? Also found a small bundle of jute padding on the floor this morning.

Any in-site to this varmint problem? Maybe he likes the smell of the Sunoco 112 <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif

I always likes the good old wooden mouse trap baited with peanut butter and topped of with a couple sunflower seeds, I love to see the fruits of my labor <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/naughty.gif

Here is an old thread about dealing with mice - might be helpful.

Best mouse trap ever...5 gallon pail, coat hanger/wooden dowl, soda can, access ramp and a little peanut butter. The dryer sheets and soap are good to put in the car...but, this trap will net you a high return. Just be careful if you have pets with the antifreeze..

**notice I said a soda can...I know you guys never touch any beer <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/rolleyes.gif

Something is baiting them. Remove any and all items that they can be attracted to. I keep nothing in my garage that will attract anything rodent wise. No food or shelter...no issues. I'd be leary about bringing more in with bait. Clean clean clean...

I use those plug in the wall noise makers to keep the rodents away. Plus I supplement dryer sheets and glue traps just in case..

What ever they bring to feeding ground it leaves spots on the top plate of the X ram that brake cleaner won't take out. Will get a picture tomorrow morning if they come back. I'll leave the hood open to see if that helps.

Thanks...I have been in my house since 96 and never had a problem till...oh wait! We have been having the hardwood floors done and the dog has been next door for a few days...maybe that's it? Always had a dog in the house. Crap in garage from house may be it as well.

We have three dogs and three cats. Two of the dogs have no interest in chasing anything but a dog dish. The third dog, a Jack Russell is kind of dumb and the cats would use him on patrol as "point man" and when the mouse would run, the cats would leave the Jack Russell in the dust, pouncing from across the room on whatever poor rodent he happened to spook.

Here's "Widget" the Jack Russell, and "Terdly" the Tabby resting after a long day of doing nothing.

I made one of those bucket of deaths a few years ago when they were brought up then...rodents were to smart for it, never caught any...even put peanut butter on the pop can....

For catching a mouse, old fashioned mouse trap. For winter storage, a car jacket.

I have three of those noise maker things in my garage. They all have mouse droppings on them.

(lol)

Seriously - I do it all. Snap traps with peanut butter, little rotating touchless traps, sonic noise makers, dryer sheets, etc.

The only thing that seems to work is a cat.

Oliver looks like a Venus Flytrap just waiting to snap shut on any unsuspecting mouse...that is placed in his mouth. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/grin.gif

Chicklet is a 13 year old Shihtzu, she once cornered a squirrel at the corner of the fence, squirrel hissed at her and it's tail went crazy, glad my dog backed off as the squirrel climbed the fence. I witnessed this confrontation and I could not believe how fast my own dog was. She is my pal and shadow, if I am under one of my cars working off the ground she is right there beside me <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif This photo is her with longer hair. (Lets Play)
