This is a - E special paint car in PINK. Does anyone have info or knowledge on these special paint Pink cars?
Option code D156...what is it?
And We ARE NOT PAINTING THIS PINK AGAIN....lol...

It's a 'dash' Paint Code, - E , 727 Int. Cowl Tag is an LOS 114894 10A (68)Build. with a tag option code of D156. This Color is NOT on any GM Paint Charts with-in 7 years of the build date.
It is a Hideous 'Titty' Pink....... non - metallic paint.
I owned a Mary Kay 4th Gen T-Bird, A Early 80's Eldorado &amp; Currently my Dad has a 98 Mary Kay Cadillac Painted over in White Diamond Pearl.....None of These Colors are even Close or on the same planet as the Pink on this Camaro Cpe. Best guess, it was a Small V8 Auto, AC, 10 bolt single leaf, car.
If memory serves me correct, either John Hooper or Jerry Macneish's second or third Edition of 69 Camaro Reference/Facts books was some limited info on a Pink Car found in AZ. or Denver.
I know about dash paint codes and one off ordered colors.....The best example I can give at this time is it looks identical to a PLAYBOY Playmate of the Month/Year AMX in Pink that was featured in HEMMINGS MUSCLE CARS a few years ago. In that feature they stated 2 such cars are known to exist.

NC.and more...they all have or have had Camaros just like this....with 'COPO' Proto-type features on Z28's with A/C and Automatics.....isn't eBay where all the guys from sYc net get there info,facts and buy one-off Barn Find Cars &amp; old race cars showing 8,000 miles one 1/4 mile at a time? In all seriousness ... I said earlier it was most likely a small V8,3 speed auto open drive 10 bolt on single leafs with A/C PS &amp; PB, Console, Deluxe Parchment Int. with a Parchment Vinyl Top.
I heard about this car from a good friend of our family (He bought it 10 + years ago as a rust free rolling body &amp; sub frame from Ca.)
I in-turn put my Friend on to it 2 years ago. He bought the car and a June DZ engine from me that was a barn find tucked away for 34 years. He freshened it up and added a mild Hyd cam mated to the 400 T-H &amp; 12 bolt Posi. The car is near ready for Color therefore my interest in asking info &amp; facts may determine what Color. Bottom line it is a Pink Car with a Dash - Special paint non code. Does it have more or less Value in another GM Color choice or OMG, blame it on someone else for picking Pink ??? What would any of you do in the exact situation?

Where is the Z28 that engine came out of ?

Gone to the Z/28 graveyard of rust &amp; dust. What I was told 2 years prior to me buying this complete eng from open element to pan and bell to fan was the car was badly rusted sitting out after being wrecked in about 1974-75. He pulled the engine,trans,rear end and other misc stuff....cut it up &amp; junked it. The only sheet metal left (that I know of) is a factory D80 deck lid with rusty corners..... The seller has the trans &amp; 12 bolt in his 69 Z/28 that was a former drag car. The MOROSO Hood,STAHL tires, CRAGAR S/Tricks and many other parts I have in my collection.

There is a guy in Monterey, CA that is the original owner of a 69 Z that was pink when it was new. I forget the story but I believe he had the dealer paint it before taking delivery.

This Car came out of Ca. then to Az.
&amp; found its way to Pa. where its undergoing a Color Change.We added a DZ 302,400 turbo,12 Bolt &amp; retaining the Original A/C....

Years ago a Camaro enthusiast book had pics of a body similar if not this same body....I don't recall who authored that book or what year ????
We'd like to find more info before we spray it a non-Pink color for obvious reasons.

I don't know that it makes a HUGE difference, partly because it obviously isn't in its original state now ... but my take is as follows:

You need more history on the car if possible. Have you requested docs from NCRS? You will probably find out for sure who the selling dealer was.
If I had that car, I would be doing some more research, looking for the original owner.
I am not a huge fan of pink cars, but I would probably paint it pink. Some one can give you the color code for the pink that GM used in 69.
Value on a car like this is probably subjective, but my guess is it is worth more painted the original color, especially if you can come up with some history. There is someone out there who would love to have a pink 69 Camaro, and be able to say it is repainted in its original color.

Tough decision.

Pontiac offered Pink Mist in 1968 as a special order color. It was available on any Pontiac, except the GTO with the Endura bumper.

There was also a special one-off Pink Mist 1968 Firebird made for Nancy Sinatra with a pink leather interior and a pink top. John DeLorean (who was dating Nancy at the time) had the plant build it for her. She supposedly wrecked it, and a second one was built. To reciprocate, Nancy's dad (a guy named Frank, I think he was a singer <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/hmmm.gif) did a couple 1969 Pontiac commercials, one for the Grand Prix and one for the GTO.

Obviously this was a girl's car ...Pink,Parchment int. Parchment vinyl roof , 327 210 hp ,350 turbo, A/C PS, 10 bolt open drive on mono leafs.

so far researching prior owners has been a dead end. (I wouldn't admit I owned either.) lol. ...
If it was just a customer ordered color vs a &quot;famous&quot; customer order is yet to be determined.
The car is waiting in limbo for paint. We have time to do some more research and Q&amp;A.
The running gear in it now can be changed back. ..we kept a lot of the base stuff and have another interior.

Is that '68 Pontiac Pink Mist a solid or metallic paint ? This car has solid paint.
We bought the car for 3 reasons. ...Dry , Rust Free .. A/C &amp; - - trim tag.
Anybody want a Pink Camaro ,,, willing to own it and be seen driving it ?

All the interior paint has been preserved as seen In the interior shots from the rocker seams to the front and rear bulkheads.....

Will update re-paint , color change as we progress pending NCRS shipper report and gathered, confirmed owner history.
