I have a Diehard Gold Battery that came in my 1960 Chrysler 300F when I bough the car in 2000 and I believe it was two years old then. Since 2002 the battery has been in my Dodge Charger and it still works great,
That makes it 16 years old and still doing the job. I have never experienced this with abattery before. Anyone else have similar experiences.

----I have a 1990 560 SEC Mercedes that I love dearly. Two years ago I was at a local gas station and the engine all of a sudden wouldnt turn over. I went to my local repair guy who has interstate battery for our whole county. He had a correct battery and asked me what was in the car. I told him I didn't know as I had never had one problem with it. We pulled the battery and quickly realized that it was the original one,,,,,,from 1990. That's 22 years for you challenged guys. We were both amazed......Bill S
I know the car audio guys rate the Die Hard Gold batteries above most others.

I worked with a guy in IL who had the original Autolite battery in his Ford pickup for 10 years, but I have never heard of anything like 16 or 22 years!

I got 10 years out of my original batteries in my '04 2500HD! I replaced them with Consumer Reports' #1 pick: Everstart from WalMart! Keeping my fingers crossed.

All my other batterys seem to last 5-6 years, the more expensive the shorter life. I use a yellow Optima in my 2003 Yukon XL, been there 5 years. Original battery failed in two years, replaced under warranty. Warranty replacement failed in 3 and 1/2 years. Have two red Optimas for may other colector cars, so far so good.
Thanks for sharing your experiences.

We got 10 years from the factory Delco unit in Karen's Berger...then it started to get weak, so I replaced it.

I'm knocking on 14 years with the one in my LS6 Chevelle. And that car sits 6 months a year - as do all collector cars in Newfoundland, Canada. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/frown.gif

I never hear there were collector cars "on the rock"?

You need to take a trip there. Huge collector scene and one of the largest private collections in Canada resides in the picturesque town of Swift Current. Vern, the owner is a "Front row" bidder at all the auctions.

I never knew.
Newfoundland and Labrador is on my bucket list, and it just notched up a few spots.
