COPO for sale (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Camaro-COPO-Camaro-1969-copo-camaro-427-425-/321435700469?forcerrptr=true&hash=item4ad70f8cf5&i tem=321435700469&pt=US_Cars_Trucks)

Buy it now: $179,900 in the ad, but the auction says $149,900, that's a 30k difference.

If it is really a #'s car, why did'nt they post any of the stamp pics, and all of that supposed paperwork, yet none posted? Between that and the price discrepancy I would scrutinize before a purchase.

Price discrepancy was probably because of a cut and paste from another site or it was relisted and the text wasn't updated.

He also has a GT500 fastback for $99k. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Shelby-GT500-196...=US_Cars_Trucks (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Shelby-GT500-1968-shelby-gt-500-fastback-428-360-hp-automatic-/321435700814?forcerrptr=true&hash=item4ad70f8e4e&i tem=321435700814&pt=US_Cars_Trucks)

Look at his completed auctions.
It was listed for 179K,then 159K is why.

This car was breifly discussed several weeks ago on here. The topic was 1969 ebay COPO on page 4. I'm not sure how to link that to this. At the very least the car has a repo trim tag.

Kurt's right on as usual w/ his comments in the linked thread including the car appearing w/ two different repop Trim Tags, note the first repop tag had D80 but new repop tag no D80 as 05A build.
VIN 124379N640918

This car is listed in our registry as a known car. However, it is also listed as having NO documentation. No ownership history, no factory docs, & no certifications. All of the previous discussions about the car are noted in the private part of our spreadsheet. IMO - it's better to include cars like this & note them as being undocumented, then to leave them off of our list (thus losing the previous discussion trail). Maybe it lost its' TT somewhere along the way? - it's up to the owner to do the research and explain the car. Until we receive compelling updates - it's totally undocumented.

Has anyone verified the numbers matching claim?
And by that I mean that this is the born with engine?

Numbers matching does not = Original Engine.

Hence, the second part of that question! "And by that I mean that this is the born with engine? "

Well, I don't know about the details...but I like the stance!

Not sure about their term "experimental" for the tranny...the hi-perf TH400 was an RPO item starting in 1969...also, am I blind or is this car missing some heater hoses??

Great color...looks good in the photos...as for the rest...like he said, the bid goes on.

uuh, with the heater delete pictured on the firewall, I'm not surprised that the heater hoses are missing.

Well, it isn't like I am a player on a restored COPO anyway, but...

I do care about the integrity of the hobby. I don't know how everyone else feels, but I am pretty quick to dismiss a car that is on its third trim tag, especially with a fake window sticker that purports to be "documentation" of the car's authenticity.
Rich asked if the engine were the "born with" unit. I can't say for certain, but what are the chances it has a fake tag, fake docs and a real born with motor? There is a reason the stamps aren't made public.

Thanks John...Guess I missed that photo <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/dunno.gif anyway, I didn't know folks ordered them that way....I know about "heater delete"...just never saw one on a COPO car.

I think that heater delete wasn't possible on 1969 models, some regulation that required ventilation.

If you look at the window sticker it doesn't list it. It is an day-2 add on.

Check out page C48 in a Camaro, Nova or Chevelle assembly manual. Delete was still shown in the 1970 manuals, just not available on cars produced for the 48 US states. It was still available in 69 and 70 on cars exported, and even on cars shipped to Hawaii from what I have read.

Based on the History I am aware of regarding this COPO, I have always believed that it was a real one.

The VIN had been recorded on the OLD COPO connection web site.

There are issues which may be able to be explained.

Glockner Chevrolet is a known COPO dealer. The family does still own the dealership, even though they have not put fourth any factory or dealer documentation. An NCRS shipping report would be a good start.

I have asked the current owner to provide the info which has been requested here on this post/thread so that we can get to the real story.
