Did you have to pay market adjustment, or sticker?
Tks, Rich

Hey Rich...I was told from the dealer that the pricing was not out yet ...but he assured me that I would only pay sticker....because it's a small town dealer and they want the order for a marketing ploy. My friend works there and we will only have him service it as it comes in. As a dealer they are required to put approx 6 miles on them....told him to be gentle. Lol

Are you kidding? I have bought two vipers over the years and each time I was there at delivery and drove them into my own trailer without even dealer prep. I told the dealer that was the way it was going to be and they had no problem with that. I've seen way too many brand new, high perf cars get destroyed in the first few feet, by dealer employees who had no concept of how to drive a car with that kind of power. One of them involved a prepper who spun the car in the dealership lot, hit three other new cars and just quit and walked away before they could fire him.

Well. The guy who will be prepping the car is a close friend of mine and fellow drag racer ...since we are close friends ...I told the dealer that I only wanted Brad on the car. I trust Brad with the keys to my house and any car that I own. Good guy.

This is interesting as this is not the info I have been provided. While 2015 Challenger orders are now open, the order banks for Hell Cats are not open and dealers do not yet know their allocation status.

Stephano, its good to know you are looking at the competition that is now likely impacting the camaro. I just googled the hellcat vs the camaro, and it does not look good from the few articles that came up. Now just imagine Mr Norm tweaking a hellcat. If I make it to the belvidere IL mopar show this weekend, I will ask him what his plans are for the Hellcat, to go beyond 700. Chevy guys probably dont know what to do now....(other than order a hellcat, or hope they dont make many of them).

I can only speak of what was conveyed to me in the past few days . I wonder if they will limit the amount of production units ?

It's just like the Old'en Days. If you want your Camaro to be quicker/faster you can bring it to us for a conversion.
Our NicKey ZL1 Stage I option is over 700 hp, with a tune and bolt ons. Our Stage II is 850hp and Stage III 1,000 hp.
The fact that MOPAR has upped the ante in the current HP wars is very Kool.

Best bang for the buck. I have no problem with Dealer tuned cars .... But when Chevrolet makes 700 horse out of Camaro from the factory and not have to take it to a tuner for another 20k plus... No Thanks. Shame that that Hellcat is going to stomp on a ZL-1 Camaro... God I hope iam wrong !

I just want to add that the Hellcat's base price appears to be about $5000 dollars more than a ZL1. Nitrous is a lot cheaper than that!!!! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/naughty.gif
Still a very cool car and definitely adds fuel to the fire with the pony cars!!!

Well, atleast the pig looks like a 70-71 challenger. I have a 70 challenger, and atleast they got close to the original. That's what I like about dodge, and I am drooling over the hellcat, I would feel proud of that in my garage sitting next to my challenger. Now I have a 69 camaro too, and I cant say the new camaro looks like my car, as much as I try to convince myself.
So mopar deserves to win big, as their pig looks like the old pig atleast <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif
Chevy might have a lighter car, but its 69 camaro heritage falls way short of what dodge did.
Sounds like they really fixed the shortcoming of the interior too, this year on the dodge.
factory warranty for 700hp is also very hard to beat. Odds are its pumping out north of that anyways. Man, I am jealous of you guys getting one of these chevy/ford killers.

The reason I say pig is the E body has notoriously been a heavy car including the latest Challenger. I have owned Hemi Cudas and the knock is always the weight on the car....I look forward to the new HellCat. The HP Wars are alive again. Detroit needs this

It's too bad Chevrolet sits on the Chevelle name.
My thought exactly.
They should be getting off their *** and building a brand new re-designed Chevelle A-body competitor for this B body Challenger.
A body that reflects a true Chevelle of the past, not an egg shaped hippo.

What I would like to see happen, is GM transition the current form to a more true to form 70-73 camaro. People seem to be really be paying more and more attention to that body style. Now that would be cool and interesting to see, to shake things up. There is not much more they can do with the current form over the next yrs. That body style is really nice, unique, and sold very well for GM. Mark my words, it will probably come. I dont see a chevelle coming, for the same reason dodge wont put 2 less doors on a charger.

One problem I see with all of these new hi-performance cars is that they're no longer within reach of the average buyer. Instead only the wealthy, usually older, collectors can buy them and then they hardly get driven.
Back in the '60's and '70's the hi-po cars could, and were, purchased by true enthusiasts who drove them and enjoyed them. Many people wonder why the younger kids look to buy, and modify, the Japanese cars. It's because they can afford them and they have a strong aftermarket where they can get speed, and dress up, parts.
I am in my early 50's and have a pretty decent job and I can't afford any of these new performance cars. I guess I could if I wanted a huge car payment and then I'd never want to drive it in anything but nice weather.

I think you can get a new Camaro SS for about $35, give or take, which is probably true for a Mustang GT as well. The average price of a new car is probably $25 to $30, so they are a bit higher but not too much. What were the prices of a Camaro or Mustang with a V-8 in 1969, relative to what the price of a plain new car, about the same as well? With an inflation adjustment, I wonder if they really are all that much more expensive than most other products compared to back then.
Also, regarding cars like the Hellcat, ZL-1, etc., those have to be compared to the Hemi Cuda/Challenger, ZL-1 Camaros, and Shelby's from back in the day as well, and they were usually so much more expensive which is why there are so few of them around these days. I think it's all pretty relative when put into the proper perspective. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif

for the last couple of weeks we've been seeing these Hellcats driving all over the place. seen a few different blacks,a couple oranges,a white one,and today (off I-75 right by Chrysler HQ)a Limelight with a Super Bee emblem on its front fender?. theres also SRT Challengers,R/T Chargers,Darts running around everywhere! funny because we also live near the Ford Romeo Proving Grounds(fairly rural area)but see new scary looking Mustangs-Cobras(Rochester rd/32mile)blasting by everyday all over the place all hours. last summer/fall the new Corvettes were EVERWHERE in the same area also. wasn't sure if they were testing on the Ford track?, or just showing off, but pretty cool to see the new Vettes driving around (32/roch Valero gas station) by teenagers-girls-whoever every morning & all day long on dirt roads Testing. will never forget the 2 dk.green Vettes with little red Test stickers below the door handle covered in dust-dirt-mud.

I checked yesterday at a local dealer and they thought 500-750 would be built but had no other info. They do sell vipers and thought they should be able to get them.
