Nice car from what is shown. Is this car known/in the registry? Stampings look good and gang stamp anomalies are consistent between partial vins on tranny and engine. Anybody know what dealer code 226 in zone 2 is ?

I see the engine vin but I don't see where they posted the cars vin.

Charley, if you look at the next photo after the engine stamping, it has a pic of the 1990 New York registration with the vin on it.

Well known car. It was talked about MANY years ago and a photo was shown on line here with a COPO Camaro parked next to it. Same owner then. NO buildsheet anywhere in the car! Needs a complete restoration but otherwise a pretty nice car and hope to be inspecting it shortly.

I inspected it years ago for Steve Sandlin. I looked everywhere for a buildsheet but came up empty. Owner who has (had?)it bought it and the COPO from the same guy in NY from what I remember.

Small world, it would be hard to pull as fast one past this crowd!!!!

.... It appears that it is a "No Reserve" auction......
... but the owner states that ... "Seller has right to remove from auction at anytime!!"
..... How does that work with ebay policies?

This car brings up an interesting debate.
What has more pull or value.
A LS6 With original Drive train and no build sheet like this car?
Or
A LS6 With Original Build sheet and non Original Motor like many around?
What would you guys rather have or pay for? <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/hmmm.gif

If someone makes him a great offer while the auction is running or someone local decides to buy it , why shouldnt he take it????

I'm surprised anyone would even ask that question. An original drive train trumps everything else.

If the seller can terminate the auction at any time, the auction may as well have a reserve because the seller can simply terminate the auction shortly before it ends if the seller doesn't like the bid level.

If I recall correctly you can't end the auction within 24 hours of the ending date or you are liable to ebay for the commission fee of your listing price.

I think its safe to say that six figure cars [and many more below that level ]sell using the ebay auction as advertising, to the serious people that travel with payment in hand to make a deal. Who wants to bid against a bunch of clowns that have no intention of following thru with thier bid. I think you can name on one hand the amount of rare six figure cars that went the distance on ebay with a legitimate serious winner at auction end .

----King is right! E-bay is a great advertising medium. Go into the boat section and you will see some really expensive 7 figure, over 199 footers. No one buys those on E-bay but they find out about them there......Bill S
