A new arrival in Donahue last week. This is a dealer built '69 427 Nova that I have had for about 10 years. The car has full ownership history and has been in the Atlanta area all of its life. It was built and sold new by Anderson Chevrolet in Marietta, GA which is an Atlanta suburb and they did a number of dealer 427 transplants on new cars back in 1969 similar to some of the more well known dealers of the time. Their ad campaign was "More Motion for your Money" in obvious reference to a much more well known enterprise on Long Island. It left the factory as an SS 350 and M-20 car and then had the engine swap, hood scoop, hood tach, stripes, 4.10 gears, and a number of speed parts added prior to delivery to the customer in April of 1969.

Over the years it has remained pretty much as it left the dealership with each subsequent owner adding a few speed parts. It still retains the original trans and rear which surprisingly were never blown up plus all of its original sheet metal. The car now has 34,000 miles on it and I have some time slips with mid 11's @ 109 mph. One of the prior owners was known as "The Preacher" in reference to his profession, and he apparently made some extra funds for the collection plate with the car after hours.

I previously brought it to one of the SCR's and after sitting for the past several years, I decided it was time to freshen it up and who better than the Mayor and his team in Donahue.

Holy smokes, that is sweet. Wow, love seeing the rarer dealer modded cars like this, and really any 427 Nova.

I am guessing they blew up the original 427? If you replace that with another OTC 427, does that affect it's value at all since the original was an OTC 427?

I have the correct dated coded 427 that came with the car, but can't claim with 100 percent certainty it was the one the car came with from the dealer and it has been decked, so no numbers to see. Since the trans carries the partial VIN and both it and the rear match the POP, I am 100 percent certain they are original to the car which is why I only mentioned they were original. Since it was a dealer installed 427 engine, I don't think whether the engine I have is original or not would really affect the value.

We're glad Charlie gave us the opportunity to work on this car. It's a very cool piece with a great history. And it does run REALLY well.
