Received an odd phone call on my voice mail. I believe it was recorded, but hard to tell since it was in voice mail.

Told me they had "received a legal case against" me. As a result I would be arrested at my "physical address".

If I wanted to discuss the case, I was told to call 682 717-1601

Message ended with "see you in court".

Couldn't pin down the accent of the lady on the phone. Sounded Middle Eastern, but accent was not real heavy.

Of course, I am not giving them the satisfaction of calling the number, and have no idea how they would try to scam me.

Just wondering if any of you have received such a call.

I called that number and Tibor answered...if you send him $1500 in cash immediately there will be no prosecution. However, if you decide not to send the money Cumby and Howie will pay you a visit...but, if you feed them a few drinks they will forget why they came in the first place and all will be well. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/naughty.gif

Lynn, there are scams going on right now where the caller uses the ruse of telling the recipient of the call they failed to file their tax returns and that they will be put in jail by the IRS if they don't immediately send some amount of money to a certain destination...

It is all BULL$HIT but unfortunately some people buy into it. Usually it is the elderly and that is who is mainly targeted...

Just ignore the calls. If they persist notify your local law enforcement agency...
