1969 Firebird 400 Ram Air III

This is an original all numbers matching Van Nuys, California built WQ Ram Air III Firebird equipped with a factory M21 close ratio Muncie 4 speed transmission with optional 3:90 gear saf-t-track differential. PHS shows it one of only 113 produced. With just one quality repaint in the correct Windward Blue on a straight rust free body with excellent black interior this Firebird is more rare than its Ram Air III Trans Am brother. It was ordered with rally gauge cluster & hood mounted tachometer, center console, power disc brakes, ride & handling package. The suspension and the brakes have been rebuilt\restored as well as the original WQ 400 335hp engine completely rebuilt. The original ram air long branch exhaust manifolds are connected to a new Pypes exhaust with crossflow muffler. Runs & drives awesome. These cars are very hard to find in any condition. This is a VERY RARE Firebird!!

$45,000.00 OBO

Power Steering cooler, same as the '69 T/A's had also I think '69 Firebirds w/ 3.36:1 and higher rears?
I was just going to ask about it too as it's not on whatever the paperwork shown is so must be included w/ this car's 3.90 axle pkg?
Cool car also nice deal for someone!

----My 69 Grand Prix SJ also came with the power steering cooler and lines going forward to it and back from it. A Pontiac performance thing I guess.....Bill S

Windward blue is code 87 and is a firebird color only. It's different than dusk blue which is code 51. It is a beautiful car but it's not a true ram air car I guess. There's a difference. It would have to have have the HOOD INLET option which is code 561. When you don't have this option these cars are known as HO 400 cars.I'd love to have that car next to my Ram IV Firebird...Somebody added the ram air during the restoration I guess. It is a nice looking car in that color. Also should have full hubcaps according to the window sticker.

Wow - very nice car in a great color. Would be nice to see a picture on pavement to get the correct stance view. Looks like it's sitting low, but I think it's just because it's in 6" of grass. Anyway - I love your car - GLWS!

You are correct GTO Don... The Ram Air option(#611) was NOT ordered on this car I added it recently, just like the setup but, WQ engine code was the same Ram Air III engine that the Trans Am's got. My 1969 Trans Am was a WQ code....HO or Ram Air III??

The funny part about that is pontiac never called it the ram air III. Somehow that name along later. It's a sticky situation with these cars with collectors. I do believe it has to be born with the ram air option to be a true ram air car thou. Nevertheless it's a way cool car with a great color.Good luck with the sale.

Here's the red car interior pic below, try previewing as quoting your post and text is all I'm doing now?
The only trouble I ever have posting pictures here anymore is that file picture names need to be short and shortening ones that won't fly often do?

Cool cars and a nice change from Camaros here also a good reminder of how wicked a combination these F-Body Pontiac/Stick cars really are!
I really like the steelies/dog caps/redlines on the blue car and sinister look in the picture against the brick wall w/ crackled pavement...love to see the same pic in black and white!
