Anyone know this car?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Camaro...=US_Cars_Trucks (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Camaro-Z28-1967-camaro-z-28-drag-car-excellent-drag-car-build-/331333484264?forcerrptr=true&hash=item4d2503bee8&i tem=331333484264&pt=US_Cars_Trucks)

Is the trim tag legit?

Apparently it is a known car, and the tag is legit.

looks like the car Cric C had and sold in Florida at auction a few years ago. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/dunno.gif

I am guessing it can't be as nice in person as it looks in the pics, but still... pretty cool car.

I was high bidder, but didn't meet reserve. Pretty sure he isn't letting go for what I bid.

Looks like it would be feasible to make street legal. Wouldn't even attempt to put it back original (besides, I don't really car for Granada Gold... with apologies to anyone with a GG 67), but street legal looks doable.

Not only would it be easy to make streetable. I would not be hard to fix the floors. I have had a soft spot the last 10 years putting race cars on the street. Last one being an 85 Iroc body in white chassis car that weighs 2300 pounds. I spent one winter totally rebuilding my 68 Camaro that had not been on the road since 75 into a street ready, legal car. That one would be fun to straighten out.

If it is the same car I am thinking, it sold for 33 or 34k at the Florida auction if I recall correctly.

Definetly looks like fun !!

Yeah, I was hoping for a distressed sale situation. I might go high 20s.

Off Ebay, but on other sites. Trying to cash in big. Just way over priced.

It may be a race car but let's not forget, it is still a 67 Z

I understand that, and that is definitely part of the appeal. At least someone had the foresight (or dumb luck, who knows which) to leave the trim tag and vin plate in place.

Still, I just can't justify 47k.

The price is $55,900 in this add. Yes it is a real Z. But the money needed to restore it will go way over the value of the car. If the car did not have the trim tag, it is not worth more than 30k on its best day. The trim tag is not worth the difference in price even for a race car.

The body is worth $25,000 minimum. So the car is worth the sum of it's parts.

Current seller told me he would take $47k. Don't know that you could sell off the race parts for 22k.

Even if I had bought it, I don't think I would restore it back to original (no original motor anyway).

I dig old race cars.

I would, however, sell the big block and auto trans and go with a vintage 302 build (what did Eric do with the really high winding 302 he tested a while back???) with a stick shift. Auto trans in a first gen Z may be easier to race, but just seems wrong.
