I talked to the owner when it was for sale on Craigslist, but never heard anything about it's race days.

John,

Did you buy it, or do some work on it? Very cool.

Thanks Bruce and Dan. The body on this car is as nice and rust free as my 18k mile L78 Nova the only problem is the rear wheel wells have been altered. Check out the interior http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics/usergals/2014/10/full-338-17455-dsc08258.jpg

Thanks guys, I actually bought it because I wanted the engine it had in it and was going to sell the body. The more I see it the more I am tempted to keep it. I think it might be a good weekend to go to the track and see how it runs. Any one else feel like having a track day?

John, who ever modified that car back in the day did a great job, as the stance is PERFECT (especially the one over by your house), and the wheel lips look like the car was designed that way. Cant beat a black nova in my opinion, car looks evil.

How about a shot of the motor?

"The body on this car is as nice and rust free as my 18k mile L78 Nova the only problem is the rear wheel wells have been altered."

Not trying to be disrespectful in any way whatsoever, but I strongly disagree that the altered wheel wells are a "problem". I think they look great. I would not change a thing.

I showed a picture of that car to my wife, and she said now THAT car she likes! (more than my 67 hemi GTX). So maybe John will sell it to me so I can put my ZL1 yenko motor in it <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif

If the motor was numbers matching than parting that car would be somewhat criminal IMO. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/no.gif

The original motor is long gone it has a original LS6 CRV coded motor in it now. I wouldnt change the wheel wells I like it the way it is, but if someone wanted to put the body back to original it would not be very hard only body work would be the rear wheel wells. Bob I will cruise by you with it one day and we can talk about selling the body.

Kinda' reminds me of how mine used to look, except the wheel flares were done horribly on mine.

i remember street racing with him(not against) in mid 70's around Downers Grove, i think, maybe closer to Chicago on Ogden Ave. i can't remember owners name, but yeah i'm sure it was sold from Nickey, owner also got stuff from the parts guy there.

John,

You should call Stefano and see if he has any paperwork on this car. Could be a killer, modified Nickey!
