This past Saturday Rob and I made the trek to Sikeston, a top notch 1/8 track. Rob and I have ran several times, but because he runs the Pure Stock circuit that requires the cars to be as they came from the factory, down to the skinny bias ply tires, while I am in a race car, never really a race. Saturday we decided to bracket race. The first race, I treed him with a 5.03 light (brake and box) and ran 6:40 (104 MPH) on a 6.41 dial with a 1.35 short time, while he was slow on the tree and ran a 7.70 (92.13 MPH) on a 7.75 dial, 1.81 60’. As we prepared for the next (final race) and track conditions getting better, we felt we might break out, but would leave our dial ins the same, run them all out, and see what numbers we could put up. This time Rob was on, with a. 512 light (footbraking). I was watching him and was slow on the tree, got out of the groove at mid track, but still felt it was a nice pass. Sure enough, I ran a 6.38 with a 1.33 60’, Rob posted a 7.67 with a 1.82’. Because of his light, I gave this win to Rob, so we left SDS 1 win a piece.

I cannot wait to do it again!

My, that looks like a nice facility. Better you split the races. Hard to live with the winner of two.

Sunday is not up yet, but Friday/Saturday some really good air there. If there is enough track temp, cars should fly.

Congrats Tom....I hear the MEAN GREEN YENKO MACHINE...went a season and career best at 10.17 ET and 1.36 short time . That 355 is hauling ass. Glad your season was safe and fast ....it's better to race super cars ...then to restore them and stare at them. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/3gears.gif

Thanks... with wet and cold weather headed this way, figured I had better get in a day or two of racing in. On Saturday went to Rogersville to run the 1/4, shooting for a 10teen. Out of the trailer a 10.20 backed up by a 10.18. After cool down, went out and ran a pair of 10.17s @ 125. Good track prep (1.36 60") with decent air, a slight head/side wind.

Sunday, Drew and I made the trek to Sikeston (Dyno Dom's place), a 1/8 mile track that always hooks very well. Couple that with cool temps and really good air, a chance for some good numbers. Started out good, with a 6.3511 @ 105.5 with a a best 60' of 1.3205. As the air got better, the Deuce just kept getting a little quicker each pass, ending the day with a new 1/8 personal best of 6.3048 @ 106.14. A couple of folks (hopefully)are to send me pics of my launches, as the Deuce was standing up big time, the highest, farthest down track ever.

Was a really fun weekend, as at both tracks everyone could not get over the fact A. it is a real Yenko B. that a naturally aspirated 355SBC door car could leave that hard and run those numbers.

From a couple of weeks ago.. Rob and I at Sikeston. Though not as much smoke, reminds me of the days at the SCR when Pete and Drew would try to out "burnout" the other.
