View Full Version : $780 for docs
Why would anyone spend $780 on docs for a car that may not even be around?

A new and improved one might be around some time next year.

A person or dealer planning to re tag a 1969 RS Z28 will definitely be making this car is my bet or guess.

all the docs offered will not help a Z28 clone, not even the POP, as the quadrajet is noted

Maybe the person buying them is also in the business of creating them and wants more originals to refine his craft.

Verne took the words right out of my mouth!
I think you are right Verne. I bid on them hoping to keep them out of the forger's hand. But I didn't bid anywhere near $780.

Those guys aren't working in a dark basement with no computer. They are on line the same as everyone else is. Once someone posts a note with a way to tell Real from Memorex, they have provided the information needed to improve the craft of the forgers. We are not a private club. This is the World Wide Web.
I've tried to convince a person who is planning to launch a web site with all the ACC codes for passenger cars, NOT to do it. He thinks it would benefit the hobby. It would only make the fakes harder to spot and put a doubt on the real cars. His name will be revered and he will receive many accolades for "helping" the hobby by those who don't see the bigger picture.

What are ACC codes?

If information is not shared, then it dies with its owner. Who can benefit when that happens?

The bottom line on passenger car cowl tags contains ACCessory codes.

Hey it a rare SS RS Z28. Gotta be worth big bucks, when was the last time you saw one. It is parked next to the unicorn stall and the box of NOS Berger emblems he has.

Th-400 trans kills the '69 Z/28 clone idea. Verne nailed it I think. Sadly.
