Air is good when running a car like that......
A few years back my brother competed in HOT RODS Worlds Fastest Street Car Competition down in Memphis.
First pass in the '34 Ford Coupe he stood it up on the bumper and carried it over half track,,,,still an 8 second run. He finished Second that year to the White '67 Chevelle because of it.
The following year he Won the Shoot out, keeping it on the ground.
He said that wheels up run was the most fun he had not being able to see and stayed in it from the seat of his pants.
That Nova is pure fun, he's having a blast with it. Its Nice to see a Steel Car in that condition performing like that.

COOL !
Somewhat , but not as Impressive as those Cars you do......
I did my own restoration and I'm not a professional by any stretch....
I learned and copied from guys like you, Chuck at CPR, SCW, Ricky at RSR and others....
"Stealing" is big part of doing a car...just as begging and borrowing... .
Thanks for allowing me to "steal" & "borrow"
Regards,.
Tom
I have tried it both ways, with front in air and limiting the frontend travel. My best 60' times are with the front in the air. Seems the higher it goes the better the 60’. I do have a set of wheelie bars for the car, which would probably help, but I like the stock look, no wheelie bars, wing, hood scoop, etc. Cool to pull into the staging lanes (pro class), next to a bunch of race built door cars, altereds, rails, etc and watch everyone stare, wondering what I am doing there, then run a good number.
But, as stated above, “…Not being able to see, staying in it from the seat of his pants, wheels up run is fun.” And of course, neat to have folks come by and tell you how much they enjoyed watching you run. IMO, only helps build the legacy of Yenkos, as well as other supercars.

I'll pin that up on my wall anytime !!!
Looking back to STOCK & SUPER STOCK & till this day....Hooked up traveling in the air cars are highly competitive, most racing done today is won or lost with 2 typical scenarios:
Reaction Times & 60' Times.
I am in agreement with the wheels up atitude on a well tuned set up......
Some here know my brother is crew chief on a highly competitive Pro Nitrous PDRA 68/69 Camaro.....
He sets it up to run .96-.98 60 ft times to compensate for "the drivers" weak reaction times....it pays off and has the appearance of cutting a good light.....
the down side on these Volatile cars with sub 1 second 60 ft times. is" too hooked up" creates tire shake a few hundred feet out and That's Bad !..Bad enough to damage or destroy anything internal on the drive train from pistons to converters to pinion gears & bearings.
When I watch Kenny Matsco in his 69 Camaro Chevy A Go Go...its like Tom's Nova, they both have that Old school Modified Production altitude is attitude performance !!
Tom, I can relate the ego boost you get against the Pro Cars...'snicker'
I had those same feelings some years ago when I raced...
(hope to do the same soon with the baby 302 brother Joe is building for my 69 Z )
Now ! the $64,000 question !
who's gonna stand down track clicking the camera and video to get "Air" shots of Tom so we can see how that YENKO looks underneath !!
