I came across this picture of Reggie Jackson's 68 Yenko Camaro in some pictures from this year's SEMA event. I know it was a no sale at Mecum in Monterey in 2010. At that time the ad said the car was purchased in Chicago in the early 80's and still had it's original Yenko installed block. I'm guessing this is YS8031, but can anybody confirm that? Does anyone know if this was a stripe delete car, and if so shouldn't it still have the 427 emblems on the front fenders? Wouldn't it have had 396 emblems that Yenko would have replaced with 427 emblems to cover up the holes? Also, I assume the hood is a reproduction since the pins are in the wrong location. I'm not bashing the car, it's just a little different than any other 68 Yenko Camaro I've ever seen.

As I recall Reggie had his employee restore the car and did some stuff wrong. It was quite a few years ago.

Yes it is 68ys-8031. I asked them at the booth and they had no idea. I asked them if they open the drivers side door and is 8031.

... If it is YS8031 ..... why is it NOT listed on the 1968 Yenko Vin list?

.... Are there others that are known.... just not listed?

It is listed on the 1968 Yenko Camaro VIN list. It is at the bottom of the first page. The only one known and not listed that I know of is YS-8058. That is the Island Teal car that is in the Brothers Collection and was the Muscle Car of the Week earlier this year.

8058 is not listed because I didn't know the VIN #, same with 8042 - I think that car is known as well, but I didn't have the VIN #.

There's two lists. The one on the Yenko page that Marlin made and the one on the Registry page.

124378N459965 is on the Registry list.

Maybe the original owner didn't want to advertise his displacement on the mean streets of 1968?
