This is a very original 1967 Chevelle with the original 396, M20 and 331 12 bolt posi with73k miles. The drivetrain is all original including most the accesories. The camshaft went bad many years ago and the car just sat, When I bought the car I had the engine rebuilt it still had original 1966 bearings and the original nylon timing chain.
The car was original paint but was just recently repainted This is a original car with one repaint.
The interior is 100 % original including the carpet I changed the door panels because the original ones had speaker holes in them but have the originals. The chrome on the dash is still in real nice shape.

Beautiful Chevelle, GLWS! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif

(On a side-note;

My Chevelle is also a 12A Kansas build and its body sequence # is 5556, only 19 away from this one.)

Thanks Eric, If your car has any original date coded parts it would be interesting to see how close they are to each other.

"Original" I counted ten uses of the word. Just curious. Can you please pontificate as to what that means in this car. Original, like it came from the factory in this particular car or......

Maybe it should be articulate or explain in better detail. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/CharleySucks.gif

I do not understand your problem, the car retains its original interior, drivetrain, undercarriage and has 70k original miles. Yes it was repainted once and had the engine rebuilt that was never out of the car before I bought it. I didnt say survivor I said original. Survivor would of been a different story. The word original means it came from the fatory with the stated part.

I read the posting when it first appeared and thought how excellent the description was being each use of the word original was preceded by the words THE and ALL also 100% etc.
Sadly the word original has different meanings in today's world and needs exact clarification...again as was used in this circumstance.
Some terms like original style or restored to original mean little as anyone's opinion of original can largely differ between enthusiasts...and reality.
Also, original doesn't necessarily mean original to the vehicle unless specified as such being it could be an original part from another vehicle...whether Eric's car a few Vins ahead on the same assy. line or one from a totally different model/plant/decade etc?
Which 396 is it, I expect not an L78?
Either way, thanks for posting and real nice car!

If it was an l78 it would be $30,000 more. They only made 612.

Out of necessity, the phrase "born with" has arisen in our hobby because the word "original" was being abused. Sadly, some people in the hobby can no longer take the word "original" as it was intended. Nice car, and I trust all the original components are the born-with components. Personally, I sure would like to have seen it back when it had its original... I mean, born-with paint! Got any past/historical photos of the car?

Good luck with the sale.

Thanks for the replies. The engine is a 325 hp engine and the only component not original to the engine is the carb it had a replacement Holley spread bore on it when I bought it. The carb on it know is a quadrajet but it is off a 68 big block. It also does not have its original rims it had aluminum slots on it when i bought it.
Here is a couple of pictures when it was original paint the drivers front fender was repainted some where along the line. The car did have the double pinstripe at one time you could see the outline where it was removed. The paint doesnt look bad in the pictures but it had surface rust under the paint.
