This is a pair of NEW OLD STOCK 3919842 aluminum heads. These are the rectangular port, closed chamber aluminum heads used on 68-early 69 L-88 engines, 68-70 L89 engines, and were replacements for the 67 L-88 heads.

These heads just came out of a collection where they had been stored in a cabinet for decades. These heads were originally purchased by a performance head builder who got them directly from GM when these were the head to run on racing applications. The builder would take these virgin NOS heads and port them within an inch of their lives for all out drag and boat racers. As the years went on, the aftermarket heads became the choice of all out racers and these heads survived untouched on the shelf.

These heads are completely virgin and have never been touched in any way. They have never been bolted to a block, never had a valve installed, and have never had a bolt threaded in a hole. They simply do not get better than this! The casting dates are early 70's as shown and since they are on the undersides of the intake ports they will never be seen when installed.

In the 60's and early 70's, aluminum heads were new on the scene and were the most high performance part on the scene. Since they were easy to modify, most were ported and butchered without regard to originality, etc. Also, being full on race parts, most have been exposed to explosions or other damage. Finding a nice set of 3919842 heads today is a very difficult task. Finding a true NOS pair is like finding a hen's tooth.

$4950

Kurt, you need these on your Chevelle, lighten up your front wheels a little more.

Funny you say that Mike....I had a pair of 074 heads I was going to put on my car but was advised to sell them and get a pair of 077 heads as they are made of a better aluminum and flow better. So....that's what I did.

BTW....bump X2
