Holly and I flew in to Chicago after getting up at 4am to catch the flight.

Holly and I met up with Holly's boyfriend Reid McCutcheon-and I volunteered Reid to work with move in as well.We checked into the hotel....unloaded all of the "stuff" and I snapped a quick pic of the Chicago skyline before making a beeline across the frigid street (17 degrees!).

We got to the the show on Thursday around noontime to help Bob and crew move into the show. Bob wasted no time appointing me to a specific area to manage the cars moving in. We met a lot of really cool people during move in...and if I told you that I remembered a quarter of their names...I would be lying!

Bob has a great crew, that is VERY passionate about what they do...and it shows. Friday, Holly, Reid and I did more of the same...and on Saturday morning I helped with the PA systems...and the numerous unveilings of the different "Spotlight cars".

Thanks Bob and crew for the best muscle car show...bar none! Now....here are my few hundred pics...with a bit of commentary.

By the way, I have to thank Ken Tibor (Kwhizz) for rescuing me....as I was foolish enough to bring everything except the camera media card. Kinda makes it hard to take pictures without anywhere to store them! So, without Ken buying and bringing a card for me...I wouldn't have been able to take any pics. Nice photos Bruce, I stopped by the SCW Gibb Deuce and met Brian Henderson, but you were out in the show area. Holly was seated behind the cars and I was hoping to meet you and thank you for the excellent photos from both AZ, and now the MCACN show.

This was my first MCACN show and I was impressed to say the least. Your photos do make you feel like you are still there, keep up the good work and thank you.

Great Photos as usual and awsome coverage. As always its great to connect with you. For some reason,maybe its the lighting in the building as the Dark Blue cars seemed to stand out, I was constantly drawn to the 65 Impala SS and the Chev Novas in Bark blue.
Des Ryan (Tracker 1) will be bagging up some mouse turds and will be available to anybody with a barn find car to add to the authenticity. Getting it past US agriculture inspection may be an issue. One car seemed to have more sawdust on it as each day passed.
To those who have never attended MCACN,what are you waiting for? Aside from the sars there is great quality time with like minded individuals after hours. My Liver Failure Warning light is no linger blinking!!!

Again, I'd like to thank all the principals of this show for having the belief that this could be the best muscle car show anywhere...at any time. All you have to do is talk to any of the participants...to feel their excitement, passion and compassion.

For example, Ken's friend Ike (that he met at another car show-at a time when Ken thought he knew all of the "car guys" in his area), was amazed that his car was selected to be in the show...and furthermore...was astounded that he won gold at this show. Ike is now re-energized and has a GTX that he wants to get finished for next years show.

That..and the fact that I was privileged to meet meet Ike and can now call him my friend, too. What is neat about that...is Ken and my car guy 'universe of friends' basically doubled just being at this show.

Thanks again to Bob and Vicki Ashton...and all of the people who helped during move in...and volunteered their time. Bob, thanks for your generosity...

This show was truly amazing!!! I had just joined this forum after Phil had forwarded me the link about an "A12 Bee" coming in from TX in the barn find display only a few weeks ago, and during the show met so many people it felt as if I was having a family reunion with people I never even had met before! Truly a stand up group of guys, and my wife LOVED Mike and his latest restoration. Congrats to him on his awards!!!!

I wore my Yenko Forum name tag proudly and a few came up to me that had theirs on as well to chat. What a great time. You know, after a while, it was almost as if the cars weren't even there. I've never had that happen before at a show. An event I'll never forget <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif

The virus/bug that many of you experienced hit me Friday night for the second time in two weeks. We planned to leave home at 5 AM Saturday for the trip to MCACN, but I had to cancel at 4:30. It just wasn't going to be fun, ....... or even safe to travel. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/blush.gif <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/crazy.gif
Like most everyone has said; this event is an absolute "Can't-Miss" every year, and not just for the cars, .... but for the fantastic people that attend, participate, support and PRODUCE the MCACN.
I equate MCACN to standing next to a Nitro car. You can see pictures, videos, hear about it, whatever ......... but until you're actually there you don't get the FULL EXPERIENCE!
