Looks like an L88 build. Crazy money, but cool to see an as-assembled motor from the factory.

I'd take a 510 cu in rotating assembly for half the price, every time.

(This , I think is the 3rd or 4th Relisting didnt sell again ,again with 0 offers) There were a few of these on eBay over the last 4 years.
This is the highest priced one I've ever seen. And, only a Short Block .
An actual CE L88. similar date In
The ORIGINAL CRATE with Stenciled Part # , Dealer shippers tag & pull Card was Listed, relisted & relisted maybe 4 times. ....it finally sold for $12,000 with shipping
4 years ago I had a NOS uncrated LS7 Complete Engine on eBay ,'73 (early date) .that I sold after only1 rrelisting for $ 6,800.
NOS DZ Style CE engines & short blocks have popped up as well, Engines for around $7,000 max.
Short blocks for $5000 max.

A side note on CE Blocks verses CE Crate engines (short blocks & long blocks)
CE is followed by a sequence # ,5 digits. when sequences are full an Alpha code follows the CE, such as CEA...
and An Assembly Date is STAMPED on the PAN RAIL....
Therefore there are such things as a Correct Date Stamp, sequence # in conjunction with the block casting number as a warranty/service/counter purchase as a Correct NOS replacement part.

Bought a CE 302 off a dealer on Ebay last year for under $2,000. Do these people want to sell there parts or just carry them from show to show never selling a thing. Make me a decent offer on my parts and I will sell. 69 Z28 intakes are a joke at $5OO. I sold a nice one to one of the big money guys on here for $ 300. Just tired of hearing it's rare or hard to find. Get over yourself and get a new hobby

Many Tom. Not just one. How can ANYONE think that is worth 18K. There are only a handful of engines worth that much. And this is just not one of them.

Pm me I have a hard time doing that. I know it is a little bit if a rant but understand we build nice cars, not perfect or show cars. But we can do an ENTIRE car for under $ 15,000.

You could buy a new one over the counter in 1976 for $875.00 and they would probably be able to give you an discount on that too.
