I've been looking at Gladiator brand. Anyone have experience with these? My goal is to have lockers and cabinets mounted off the floor.

Sam, I have used many types of cabinets in my F body Man Cave. Here is one option. I kept looking for these on Sale, in store special or coupon etc. I think I popped at $99 each. At that price point I was going to start look at other options. They are Sears Black/platinum with enamel finish Pre-drilled mounting holes Keyed internal locking system Measures 28" H x 28" W x 12" D Assembly required, Model # Model # 10135. I chose black to match my checkered wall stripe.

My installation

I made sure to install a header at the correct height behind the sheet rock, as I carefully planned out the garage layout for TEN years prior to building it for my 50th Bday gift. I like them, including the lock & latch, clean look, steel construction, adjustable shelf. They have a variety of configurations. BTW I have a Gladiator cabinet that I found years ago for 49$ discounted @ Lowes and it is just as nice, I just grew to prefer the clean (non Diamond plate Look) but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,<Next Post>

Sam,

I installed these this past summer. They are Saber Cabinets out of Nevada. They are great quality and were pretty simple to install. They are off the floor which is what I really wanted. www.sabercabinets.com (http://www.sabercabinets.com)

My garage has a 30x40 footprint, not a pretty boy shop, I work there and it even looks like a pig sty at times. One of the best things I did years ago was build this bench with casters on it so I would not tie up the wall space and it has been great being able to move it where it is needed, and I use it to stand on when changing out flo lamps too. It is about 40" x 7' long. And note the stationary wheels are under the vise end.

Sam also made a great point when he said he would like to keep his cabinets of the flore. My building is framed on 2 courses of 8" block and that left me a couple inches of exposed sill on the inside. I have only two cabinets on the floor.
When it is time to wash and hose down the floor not much is in my way.

Here are the cabinets I chose. They are by NewAge Products and are their performance series. They are fairly well build and a great value for the price.

Thanks for the compliment. The Deuces Wild Ad was done by a printing firm in the Chicago Area. If you are interested in getting one done I can PM you their contact info. They do a great job. The challenge is getting it delivered.

Sam,
Have you considered something that's not modern but has some character from the older days? I got these for next to nothing and they store a LOT. You'd have to put them on risers though because they recommend not mounting them on a wall.

A couple of years ago one of our neighbors renovated his kitchen...we got all the old wooden cabinets. They fit nicely in the garage and are great for storage...not very fancy, but the price was right[free]. I don't have any photos...but ,just think of your mom's kitchen circa 1960 <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/rolleyes.gif

Here are the cabinets in a shop I built on our farm.
A local cabinet maker built and installed them for
me with my design. All oak with SS inlaid on the work bench
both sides of the desk area. I wanted the 40's look. Boy I
miss that shop.

If you go Gladiator, be aware that they have some for sale in the big box stores, but they are not the same quality as the fully welded ones. Most of the ones I have seen in stores are bolted together.

Gladiator ran a sale a couple years ago on the good wall cabinets... $100 per and fixed shipping regardless of how many you bought. I got ten, and only paid $70 to have them all shipped.

Yes my son & I put that up & I used barn/farm lights that
I purchased at the local ranch & farm store. I had infrared
heat in the building but when you would turn on those lamps
it would warm up in a hurry. the ceiling fans were always on.
