I called this car museum yesterday and asked about their hours of operation for this week including Christmas Eve ...the lady on the phone said 5 pm ...so today I gathered up the kids had lunch and drove the 1 1/2 hours to get there...we arrived at 2:45 pm. The sign on the door said that they close at 3 pm ...I asked to speak with the manager....( He was an A$$ ) I had told him that we called ahead and drove 70 miles....he said there's nothing he could do.....I promptly told him to inform his employees of proper closing times ....big thumbs down. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/bs.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics/usergals/2014/12/full-2742-19886-image.jpg

Took my parents last year and it was interesting. He had several 1st gens with a Copo appearing car. The girl at the counter was interesting. A lot of colorful tattoos. Pretty decent looking. Not sure she knew anything about cars. I do think she scared my parents! Looks like good weather there this weekend. Enjoy the sun Doug! Rained here today and getting colder

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience there. I was there back in 2009 soon after they opened and really enjoyed myself. At the time he had a bunch of Chevrolet muscle cars there. Some of the cars were questionable, but he did have a Hugger Orange Canadian COPO Camaro, a beautiful Azure Turquoise 69 L78 Camaro, a Z-16 Malibu SS and a supposed legit 68 L89 Chevelle SS.

I´m sorry about the bad experience Doug. I´ll soon be visiting the museum again, as we will be living in the Rotunda West area. Are there any cruise-nights, swap meets or other gatherings in the area that you guys know of ?

Anders - I don't know how long you'll be in Florida, but the biggest car show of the year is the Hot Rod Nationals on January 17-18 at Jet Blue Park in Fort Myers. LOTS of classic car events in SW Florida.

Bruce, unfortunately I won´t be able to make that as I´m only staying a couple of weeks. Last time I was in the area I saw a couple of local, let´s call them wednesday night cruises. They were held at places like Burger King or big mall parking lots. I guess cruises like these are only known localy.

I think they are having a swap meet sunday at the museum , anders there is a newspaper called the keels and wheels it shows all the car shows in the area be on the lookout for it at 7-11s or newsstands.

There is also the Ferrari's on Fifth in Naples on February 14th for those who will be in SWFL around that date. Merry Christmas all.
