The Cowboys...."America's Team".....I don't think so. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/no.gif That was just a publicity stunt way back when and some people took to it. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/thumbsdown.gif

Dan as an Eagles fan I hate the Cowboys 365 days a year. As you may or may not know the Eagles and their fans have always disliked the Cowboys. I'm a fan of the Packers today because I don't want to see the Cowboys advance to the NFC Championship game. If somehow Dallas advances then yes I'll be a Seahawk's fan next week. But no, I'm not a fan of the Seahawks in general!

I am a true Packer fan -- but that rules sucks ... could have been the Pack at the end of that play. I believe that rule was enacted by the NFL over a player that appeared to catch the ball in the end zone and immediately dropping it to the ground in celebration. Maybe someone here can expand on that. TAZ

Sorry bears fan -- you're not getting the Packers coach ... you could only wish to get someone with that much class. He would NEVER fit into the bear organization. A bear normally finds a den in the winter time and sleeps -- just like that Chicago team.
For those that are interested -- did the Patriots get caught cheating again? Under inflated footballs is the issue.

Being a Bears fan, I can honestly say I was pulling for the Packers in this one. The arrogance and trash talking by Seahawk players is too much for me. I thought it was just Sherman last year, but most of the team is like that. I guess it's who they are, thugs and gangbangers with uniforms.
Personally I'd like to see them get pasted by the Patriots 54-3 in the Super Bowl, then have Gronk get in Sherman's face, and perhaps Brady can put on a dreadlocks wig and do a little dance on the 50-yard line.
I saw one of the post game moments with Kearse, and the Seattle media were so excited and happy, one of them asked how Kearse felt. He began yelling, taunting, and trash talking the media like he was still on the field.
Err....hey Jerome, they were on YOUR side, and complimenting you. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/confused.gif
The exception on the Seahawks is Russell Wilson. In my opinion, he's still vastly underrated, despite winning a Super Bowl and going back for his second appearance. He's a quality individual both on and off the field.
As for the Packers.....one of the biggest collapses in NFL history.
Being a Bears fan, I can honestly say that Aaron Rodgers is one of the top (if not THE top) QB's in the NFL. I don't like the Packers, but I think Rodgers is a superb QB. Wish the Bears could find someone half as good as he is.
427TJ
01-21-2015, 11:57 PM
I don't blame Kearse for being a little wound-up after the game he had and then that great catch to win the game. Plus, the sports media is not exactly the friend of the athlete. Sports writers have careers to tend to and sometimes the real story isn't good enough so they fluff it up with innuendo and false accusations. Kearse knew he would be skewered if Seattle had lost and when he redeemed himself in such a big way he just had to blow off all that steam. Same with Sherman last year.
Aaron Rogers said that they were the better team. I know what he means but Seattle was the better team because Seattle stuck together and never gave up. The Packers got conservative too many times on Sunday and when Seattle began playing, with 3:09 to go in regulation, the Packers basically fell apart. Seattle was the better team because they kept their faith in each other and won in a stunning fashion.

If you take one of the multiple things for the Packers during this game and have it go their way, the outcome most likely would have different.
(1) Get in to the end zone one (or more) of the three possessions they were within the 10 yard line just in the first half.
(2) They should have been ready for the fake 3 point attempt. Even I was thinking they would do it.
(3) Clinton-Dix breaks up the hail mary pass for the two point conversion.
(4) Morgan Burnett runs for more yards after the interception instead of sliding.
(5) Bostick does his job and blocks instead of trying to catch the onside kick.
(6) Most of all......McCarthy makes better calls instead of being too conservative.
Better play calling, playing better and most of all, luck was on the Seahawks side the last three minutes of the game.
Now....that can go both ways but Seattle made more mistakes throughout the whole game and would have needed more than one thing to change the outcome.
The bottom line is, the Packers lost and it's just a game that we have no control over.
For the record, I will be rooting for the Seahawks to win because they are in the NFC and I like Russell Wilson....a former Wisconsin Badger.

</div></div>On your number 4 statement above I still wonder about. Why did he slide down rather than try to get as much yardage as possible? At the time he slide down I don't remember seeing a Seahawk within 10 yrds. of him. What confused me even more is that the announcers said that he did the right thing in sliding down, huh? Would someone please explain to me why he did the right thing by sliding down. I'm a Packers fan and still haven't gotten over this loss.

Part of the conservative-play mindset that led to the Packers' loss. I think his teammate yelled "get down" after he made the interception so he slid and protected the ball. That same Packer who yelled "get down" (or something to that effect) then fell on top of him so as to further protect against a subsequent fumble. Heard that explanation on the post-game on Monday.
I think the announcers agreed with the slide because NO ONE saw the Seahawks coming back and winning that game, not even Aikman up in the booth. Just as in money-making on Wall Street it's the risk-taker who more often than not succeeds while the cautious, conservative guy might hesitate or stand pat. Both are 'correct' depending on the outcome. Had the Packers won then the slide would be seen as the smart play. They lost so the slide adds to the list of possible mistakes by the Packers.
