Simply amazing. I thought feebay had a policy against that. Just report it and see what happens. The FEDs might be interested too.

"for sale is a antique vintage clear title and vin ..." That antique vintage clear ...is it.
Here is a reply I received to a similar question
I don't know the car or the seller? There is no conspiracy going on here. I believe its not, because the topic doesn't pertain directly to anyone here. There are many re-stamped and misrepresented Camaros advertised on ebay, I certainly hope that we don't discuss everyone of them, but that is just me.

The "REPORT ITEM" link is on the right side of the page just above the small font, item number. Just click on it and select <span style="font-style: italic">"Prohibited and Restricted Item"</span> and then another drop down opens up. Select <span style="font-style: italic">"Vehicles and Vehicle Parts and Accessories"</span>. Another drop down activates, then select <span style="font-style: italic">"VIN Plates and VIN Rivets"</span>. Then click the <span style="font-style: italic">"Continue"</span> button and it will self load the item number, then click on <span style="font-style: italic">"Send Report"</span>.
And off it goes to the ebay police. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif

So you don't see the difference between someone selling a VIN tag and title to a car which doesn't exist vs someone selling a real Z28 with a restamped engine?

Folks, it has been reported to the police.
Doing the "report to eBay" thing is fine and good, but when you (aka "me") know someone who has a vested interest in this and knows authorities, reporting it to eBay doesn't help unless a screen shot has already been taken of the auction.

I'm very glad to hear the authorities are involved. It doesn't amaze me anymore just how dumb some people are. Like the employees who complain about their company or boss on facebook, then find they're out of a job.... <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/rolleyes.gif

Kind of along the same lines:

The definition of Fraud is: deceit, trickery, sharp practice, or breach of confidence, perpetrated for profit or to gain some unfair or dishonest advantage.
There is NO difference. Disclosure is everything. In the case of the title, there is no car. In the case of the restamped block the owner states that it was NOT a restamp, and that he is a leading authority. Statements like that are deception, which is fraud. Telling someone you are an authority gives them a false sense of security. I work damn hard for my money at a 200 year old steel mill that is 1 degree today. Making a purchase like that would be something that most of us common people would have a hard time overcoming. And after finding out your were deceived getting a lawyer is to expensive and takes to much time. I work 6 days a week right now, when does that leave time to pursue legal avenues. I have dealt with three people in the last two years that have told dumb lies that have had a dollar figure attached to them. The lies would not have affected the outcome, but was just disappointing.
