Nice, nice original '68 here with POP and window sticker from Cormier Chevrolet. Love it. I'm just amazed at how clean the floors are.

I'm sure there is a simple answer to this question...but did all '68 Z/28s come with the rocker trim? My car doesn't have it. Guessing it was deleted when it was repainted.

When you say rocker trim are you referring to the spears or the R/S 3 piece rocker trim? Very clean car. Wish they would have taken pics of the stampings and the docs.. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/crazy.gif

I meant the rocker spears...should have been clearer!

All Camaros came with the rocker spears regardless of trim level. RS moldings are a whole other trim, but again all camaros had some type of rocker trim..BKH

The floors look like they have all been painted grey and it looks like the gas tank was too. The carb has COPPER fuel lines, which is very dangerous, copper will break!

JMO, but the floor pans look to be original with the amount of body color you might expect. As you may know LOS cars were primed in gray only.

I didnt see the pictures at the bottom of the ad or the link to the vid. Looks like the car has been repainted or at the very least the trunk lid stripe.

Is that a correct steering wheel for a '68 Z?

Was this car not still up for another 5 or so days of bidding this morning?
Why would it now show being sold for $39950.00 instead of the seller waiting for the rest of the time for it to attract more bidding which it obviously would have from the history here after only 2 or 3 days so far?
Maybe I just don't understand Ebay logic and all - but I would have thought at this rate it could easily have topped $45 or even $50 thou by the end of bidding time..!?
Is it possible to end bidding early and consider it sold so as to save fees or taxes somehow, while in actual fact paying more for a car as a buyer, than it actually has its stated selling price advertised as..
I'm obviously struggling to understand why the seller would throw away $$'s here.

Could be that the seller got a fair profit at the 39k and the person was a real buyer with cash and ready to make it happen, vs waiting on someone who may or may not be able to complete the transaction. That would be one reason I could think of.

Possibly - but if I listed my own '68Z and it got to almost $40000 in a couple of days I would certainly be inclined to look forward to the rest of the auction to see what it would or could really pull..
You see lots of auctions where a declared 'sold' car gets relisted due to non payment by a purchaser, and if someone defaulted on the deal there is always a starting point made for the second auction by watching how bidding in the first transpired - or one would assume that at least.
I'm only interested because it is very similar to my own car and my sons and I were watching to see how this transpired on the premise we might be interested in advertising it come Spring, and very curious of what might be a good price to consider asking at that point.. thus the interest.

Of course you are assuming that the quick ramp up to just under 40k was all legit bids. A lot of times they are not.

Good luck with yours, I agree that this seemed like a good deal for the buyer.

A few clicks reveal why a solid offer may've been accepted early also why this and other cars of the same owner are being sold off?
It appears the car's long time owner is/was Robert 'Bob' Schiro of Los Gatos CA and Googling just the words Schrio and Gatos results in a multitude of hits, here's a couple of the most relevant...

Ouch......

That would be a reason why quick cash is being sought.

Yup, that could be a reason certainly to try and speed things up some..
Wonder though what it could have brought with more time, even though this is probably not the best time of year to be selling - at least in my opinion.
Thanks - Randy

What a d i c k! Typical sociopath who is never at fault. These types really do think the rules and laws are for other people and not themselves. Judge ignored his phony maneuvers and hammered him.

Call a cab guys! Hit a cyclist and you're toast. Hit-and-run and deny it and you're even toastier.

Cleaned up a little for the photo collectors:

Just to close the loop on this odd and unfortunate story, the poor old Z is being flipped for $55k. Hope it finds a good home.
