That's a lot of money but, finding a real 884 or 882 that hasn't been bead blasted and/or tumbled to death ain't easy.

Mark, you like that stamp? I don't have my 884 for my LT1 in front of me but those 8s look crisp, no?

Yes, I like the stamp. John Pirkle, Sr. guided me years ago on stamps. In my opinion, it's real.

That's 100% real. I am going to assume that the "grind" marks are just from a tool adjusting the alternator when it's in place. Corvette HP alternators from this era all had "strange" looking stamps.
Here is a 1970 LS5 Corvette stamp for comparison.

I've owned two of these alternators in the past and both of them had a small pulley on them.
