I tried to book my room this week. I am told there are none available but there is a block reserved? Is there something I am missing? Just trying to get a jump on things.
Thanks,
Tim

Contracts have been signed with the Doubletree O'Hare, the Embassy Suites O'Hare, the Crowne Plaza O'Hare and the aLoft. Apparently, it takes some time for them to run through corporate and officially go into their system. As of today, the only link that is up and running is for the aLoft, but we have been told the other three will be up and running next week.
Will keep everyone posted, but rest assured, our usual four Official Host hotesl are all lined up with rates starting at $105 per night!

Links are now up for the DoubleTree, the Embassy Suites and the aLoft.
http://www.mcacn.com/hotels.htm
Link for the Crowne should be live any day now...
Remember...if you want to be at the DoubleTree (aka Party central and home of Dru's lounge), book now to avoid missing out. That hotel always sells out in a hurry!

I'm looking to book the my room but my wife is extremely picky on the hotel thing. Which is the cleanest and nicest.

Hi Mike, two years at the Crowne Plaza O'Hare and it was perfect, if she doesn't like it it is all my fault!

Do the group rates include Thursday night and Sunday night for exhibitors? My information tells me is a fair amount more.

All four are clean and nice, (really!).
DT is the most active, but I personally prefer the Embassy Suites as my #1 pick. Among the MCACN Members, most stay at the DT, while several of us stay at the Embassy. I have personally stayed at all four and can say I am confident she will be happy at any of them. If she prefers the latest decor (and newest facility), that would be the aLoft. Each really has its own personality, so I would ask other members to weigh in with their own opinions.

Yes; rates and perks apply Thursday-Tuesday at all four for both participants and spectators. Must say MCACN!

I spoke with double tree and it was the first time I had ever heard of a hotel taking a "non-refundable" deposit. she told me it was the way the sales staff had set it up. I'll be there at all cost but I did not commit with them just incase. Anyone else find that odd?

They are all going to that now. Embassy was that way last year and now Double Tree.

It is common in the industry for high demand events. It has become common for people to book multiple rooms only to cancel some near the actual booking dates, leaving the rooms unsold long after being listed as sold out. Since these properties always sell out well in advance, all Hilton properties (the DT and the Embassy) implemented this policy last year.
If this is a problem for anyone, I believe the Crowne and the aLoft do not require an advance deposit.

DoubleTree required the advance deposit last year also.
As an FYI, this did not affect the amount of rooms booked for MCACN, as they both sold out (even earlier) and bookings were at full capacity.

Spoke to our rep earlier today who assured me they are set and locked in. The link will be up and running Friday. If you call directly and the person answering the phone is unaware, ask for Michelle Lee or Irina in reservations.

To better serve both our participants and our spectators, I just struck a deal with the Hyatt Regency O'Hare, which is also across the street, on the Bryn Mawr side. (this is across from the loading dock area).
A booking link will be added for this one real soon with rates starting at $109 per night with $15 daily parking.
For now, we have direct links for the DoubleTree, the Embassy Suites, the Crown Plaza and the aLoft, so book early at any of these Official Host Hotels to be in the middle of the action and get great rates and extra MCACN exclusive perks.

Awesome and much appreciated. I do think we need to coordinate an Official sYc Members meet and greet this year. I may be a bit busy, so if someone would like to step up to coordinate this, I will work with you to create the best time so that it doesn't clash with all the various activities and unveilings.

Wait...NEW lanyards?!!?!? I never took mine off from last year's show! Matter of fact, I just had a line check from the FAA the other day and I showed him my Yenko.Net ID card instead of my pilot license <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/laugh.gif <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/crazy.gif That didn't go over very well. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/hmmm.gif
I'm pretty well known apparently, in the DFW terminal:
Captain #1: "Hey Pete, where you headed?"
Captain #2: "Hey Rick, four-day. ORD-SEA-SFO."
Captain #1: "Who you flying with?"
Captain #2: "Some dude named Molnar. You know him?"
Captain #1: "Molnar...Molnar....Oh, is that the dork who wears some Yenko.Net ID card around his neck?"
Captain #2: "Oh cripes, that's him. He has "Six Pack" and "6BBL" stickers on his flight bag too, right?"
Captain #1: "Ugh. Yeah, that's him. What's a Yenko.Net anyway? Good luck!" <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/no.gif

I have to publicly extend my sincere appreciation to this man. If there was ever a great Ambassador for our show, Dave is the man! Oh...and allowing his lovely bride to join us to assist with some of the Unveilings this year makes him even better in my book.

It's the least I could do to help you guys out! I may be a little more enthusiastic than most, but it's with good reason. This show is just top notch, so euphoric, and a sight to behold. Rembrandts hang on walls and are admired by folks behind velvet ropes appealing to the visual sense. These Picassos put sight, smell, and in some cases, touch, into sensory overload. It's a virtual cornucopic automotive feast that leaves recalled memories as leftovers the entire year with ones mouth dripping for the next show!
See you all soon! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif
