ON THE FENCE ON RESTORING MY 69 Z PAINT CODE 67-67 BURGUNDY HOW DESIRABLE IS THIS COLOR I HAVE NOT SEEN MANY OF THESE . EVERYONE HAS TOLD ME THAT THE COLOR DRIVES THE PRICE OF THE CAR AND THAT BURGUNDY IS NOT A GOOD OR DESIRABLE COLOR ?

Leave it the original color! Seldom seen...

Had I bought one in 1969, burgundy would have been on my short list, and you don't see that color today so I'd love to see it. I think the days of painting a muscle car a different color for sales has diminished to a large degee (at least for now), so I think original rules the day.
Can you post some pics up as-is? Would love to see it.

I am in the camp that Burgundy would have been on my short list of desirable colors for 69.

I have a Fathom Green 69 Z/28. A non desirable color but I kept that color when we redid it.
Nothing wrong with Burgandy. I like that color. Dan S. is right

IMO - color change is worse for the value then leaving it a less desirable original color. Also IMO - 67-67 with white stripes really pops!

What's not to like about this.

Sammy I thought you might like a picture of my burgundy day2 Z back in the day. Probably 1977 I had this car, & my orange z. Oh my every day driver was a vega gt.

We are going to pant my street car either burgundy of midnight blue. Burgundy is a desirable color. Just maybe not to the newcomer that looks at red, orange and black. It yours do what you want

Burgundy and red interior is one of my favorite combos.
However, I kinda prefer the '68 burgundy, whatever they called it at the time. And is it any coincidence that 1967's Royal Plum is one of my favorite colors period?

Rare color. Leave it orig color. The loss in value of a color change is more than a so called undesirable color that is original. My Z is burnished brown. Enough said!

What supposedly are the "hot" colors??? Lord I've seen a zillion LeMans and Fathom Z's, none of which appeal to me more than Hugger and Dusk

Hey now! You make it sound like burnished brown is an ugly color.
Not something I would walk into a dealership & say I want this color but I wouldn't change it for love nor money.
IMHO Leave it the original color. Burgundy looks awesome!

Burgundy is a fabulous colour and you do not see it very often.
It is my favourite.
Someone used to attend our club show with a Burgundy Z.
It stood out from the crowd.
The same goes for Burnished Brown and Frost Green.
Two colours which are not common and stand our from the crowd.

I agree on hurting the value with non original color. I bought mine because of the color http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics/usergals/2015/02/full-13064-21254-2012_07_28_09_58_56_987.jpg

My car is a non-desirable color.......
Like everything else in life, colors can be cyclical. Todays flavor of the year will be tomorrows turd. My oddball color is in a positive light right now. People like the "different" look and say it is refreshing to see. The response It received at MCACN, last fall, was over the top and I was blown away by all the positive comments. What does all this boil down too? Absolutly nothing! I know that in a year or two it may be called puke/ pea green again. Whatever you decide, do it for you. I did, despite my best judgement, and couldn't be happier.
Maybe ol' Henry Ford was right.....paint em all black!?!?

Very cool flat hood, no spoiler car Bill! Love it!!!!
These photos/car belong to a member (Mike True) here on sYc. He owns this original Burgundy Z/28 with factory red stripes. According to him this car never had a full restoration...just a clean up & detail 1998. It still retains it's original chambered exhaust too. In my opinion Burgundy is a very nice color not seen enough of in '69 Camaros, Chevelles or Novas--at least around here that is.

Here's my Burnished Brown Z before I bought it. Photo courtesy of previous owner. Going in for a frame up restore next month because of some rust showing up in the lower panels. Never thought for a minute that I would change the color.

Maybe just a real nice repaint and clean up?
Nice car!!

I'll see what my BB Z looks like when we get it to bare metal; then decide the extent of the frame up.
Sorry Rich. It seems we have sidetracked your thread.
Once again I would keep your car its original color. That is the reason you bought it in the first place.

I will post some pictures when I can get it pulled out of my garage
