My buddy has a 1970 396/325 auto A/C Hugger Orange black VT El Camino CA car it's whole life that he bought in 1973: What would it be worth in driver condition? It needs paint right now but is no rust never hit.

I should clarify,it's in primer right now but it does have docs proving the Monaco/Hugger orange. It runs and drives with the original numbers engine/trans/rear.

I don't think the 325hp 396 was available in 1970?? Badged as a 396 the motors were really 402cid...330, 350 and the 375hp options are what I'm aware of.

No 325HP in 1970...sounds like a 402/330HP LS-3 optioned Elco,which was possible,but not in Super Sports during 1970.
Does it have the optional round rally gauge dashboard too?
What's the rearend ratio?..and is it positraction?

Pictures would really help determine it's value.

Its a SS that my bud bought when he was 23 in 1973.I will get all the specs but I do know it is a legit numbers matching BB special paint 70 Elco.Bummer its not a 4 speed.

He sold it to some Mexicans in the late 70's.they never paid him so he took it back in primer.

Mexicans ,,, in primer since the 70's ?

No pics, not knowing what engine or condition first hand ....probably over 100,000 miles, tired, worn , weathered, etc, etc, etc...Have never seen a nice car in primer that long,,,
.a crap shoot.....$8,000-$10,000...

PRIMER IS the Worst thing for Metal sitting around, and for Decades ?
Rust everywhere through that Primer.

I'm being realistic as if my money is being spent on a blind appraisal

Its worth a lot more in Texas than say California. Location plays into the elky's quite a bit from what I see.
