I took these pictures at the Association of Manufacturing Technology convention in Orlando the other day. This car was printed at their annual trade show at McCormick Place last September. You may have seen it on the Today Show.

Made if the same material as Legos plus Carbon fiber.

Pretty cool technology and the future of the Auto and many other industries.

Amazing technology. In my son's 8th grade innovations class he made 3D dog tags for our dog and cat on a 3D printer, complete with the names embossed. And to think, at the height of the Space Age back in the 1970s, I got to make an aluminum oil funnel in my high school shop class and solder the seams with a lead bar. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/rolleyes.gif

3d printing is getting real interesting in the food and medical fields. I was reading an article on printing a human nose and ears.
