My black 1969 Chevelle SS 300 Deluxe post sedan survivor has a damaged fan shroud that I'd like to replace. I don't want a reproduction, and don't need NOS... So I'm looking for a decent used shroud. Perhaps someone has an original off a car they've restored.

Please pm me if you have one.
Thanks guys!

How can we identify one if we suspect we may have one?

I recently sold the last 4 original assembly line shrouds I had, over the last 2 years, all in various conditions.
The part #3938165 is embossed into it.
They don't reproduce this Big Block 3 core shroud properly. They only sell the later issued 3rd design for 4 core radiators, with an entirely different part,#6261914.
Read & see details here.

Bump...
I'm still looking for a used shroud. Perhaps a slightly damaged shroud that wasn't good enough for a restoration, but good enough for a survivor.

I can't get enough of the original day-two modifications that the original owner made back in the day, except the handiwork to the fan shroud...

Yeah, I can see why you need a survivor shroud.
Thanks for sharing the pics. Any more with the interior, cowl tag, etc.?

I remember when that car was on Craigslist. Nice score, it was almost headed to MI!

Yeah, I`ve been eyeing that one but I thought it was better suited for a restored car since good ones are so hard to find. Thanks for posting it. That`s nicer than I had intended or expected to put on my car... but I may just have to spring for it? My Canadian dollars are only worth $0.68 of a US dollar today, and the price of oil (my livelihood) is selling at under $30/barrel. Ouch! I'm watching every penny...

He's come down..was @ $800 for a month. Can't tell in his photos if it's been shaved down on the driverside.Which if it has, isn't worth that money.
At least the shipping is free.

Here is a photo of the interior... Since this photo, I've installed a correct bench shifter handle. I still ought to install a correct radio, but technically the radio is sort of a day two item as well.

Shortly after you posted the shroud on this thread, the auction ended. I'll watch to see if he re-posts the item.

I like that car Helmut. Looks really good.

While on the subject of Chevelle fan shrouds, I need one for my 68 El Camino small block. It is not reproduced.

What is the difference between 68 and 69? I know 69 went to the long water pump and am wondering if the 69 shroud is shorter.

If that is the only difference, any reason I can't use a 69 on my car and space out the fan to get it to the shroud?

Sorry for the hijack.

Oil at $30, people here in Oklahoma are getting a bit skittish. Of course, it is nothing like 1930 when it hit $0.10 a barrel. Even adjusted for inflation that is less than $1.50 today.

Thanks George, but that one is a 3986905... not correct for a 1969 as far as I know.
