Looking for an original bolt and star washer for attaching negative cable to alternator bracket on a 70 Nova. I believe these were used on all the other models as well.
Thanks..wilma

You have a few of them Tommy. Take one off one of your survivor cars.
Problem solved!

Tom, I have it just let me know the headmarking and a pic of one from your car so I can get it matched up.

They used two style bolts here, most common is a recessed flanged head with a notch in the tip to cut threads. Second is a recessed head with a tapered tip to cut the threads. I have both styles and the star washer. If you still need it let me know as I have several sets of each style. Thanks, Rich.

I am planning a trip to the shop today or tomorrow...will look at some of the original cars and see what is there.
I did read in the 70 assembly manual that the negative cable was moved from the block to the alternator bracket in April/70...but, some all of our earlier cars [I think] have it on the bracket...any thoughts???
thanks..tom

I stopped by the shop yesterday...the negative cable on our survivor 70 4spd car[12/69] is attached to the alt. bracket. It has a star washer and a bolt with recessed head...markings are a large "C" with small "o" inside...don't know if this is correct...any input would be appreciated.

Tom,
Lets see if this might help. I Don't have a 70 Nova AIM so I will ask you to reference the pt# as these are from my Corvette AIMs. C head marking Bolt on left is pt# 3958062 recessed/flanged head with a notch in the tip. RBW Bolt on the right is pt# 9420825 recessed head tapered threads at the tip. Let me know if either # matches up with the Nova AIM.
I would have to see a picture of the head of the C bolt you have to see if it is a period correct supplier. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics/usergals/2015/04/full-905-24574-img_2779.jpg
