I saw this last year in San Diego. Is there some story behind it? Or just a nicely done fake-unrestored?

Bill Thomas used the NicKey Crest style logo when they formed their partnership for speed parts and Conversion Cars, I believe that was in 1966.

----Very cool Vette. Appears to be a red-on-red 65 396 coupe. Not chopped liver! Fender wells are massaged a bit, but who cares if it was done back in the day. Damn,,,Id love to see an underhood pic. Where's Jim Gessner when you need him!

----Ohoooo, the wheels look like they might be real magnesium too......Bill S

----I think you are taking my words out of context. I just ment that I think Id drive this old Vette just as is. There are plenty of restored 65s around, and very few period Vettes like this......Bill S

I heard a couple of years ago that it was "created" by somebody who is very good at that sort of thing. I think they also did a '69 Camaro that said both Dana and Yenko on it. That also had many people wondering if it was some kind of legitimate car from back in the day.

The fronts look to be the more rounded spokes on the '69.
