Picked this up a few days ago from an estate sale with the intent to re-sell. I am not trying to sugar coat anything and the car is in "as bought" condition. I am pricing it to move and offer it to someone here with the feeling that it could be brought up to a higher standard with a week or two of work. Bought new here in southeastern WI by a woman who then sold it to her brother a few years ago. It looks as if he tried to wax it, put new napa exhaust from the converters back and new tires (dated 2011). He has since passed on and I bought it from the son who didn't want to deal with it. It has a clean title in the fathers name and is signed by him before his passing. Not a ton of paperwork except the manual and warranty booklet. The family isn't sure if there is any elsewhere. The tlc I would give it if I have to hold on to it would be, a buff job as paint is original but cloudy here and there and the hand waxing over the years didn't do a super job. Touch up some blackout parts under the trunk lid area, a re-charge as compressor was replaced and compressor kicks in with low pressure switch jumped. Car was factory rust proofed and you can see it under the hood (could be removed if desired.)I have on order a new driver door lock cylinder that will be keyed to match at the chevy dealer when I pick it up. It works but the black cap is missing for reasons unknown. Rims have slight surface rust and one was spray bombed to protect it. I'd maybe re-shoot the wheels if one was to keep these on it. Car runs and drives super, has alot of power and squaks 2nd. Has posi, tilt a/c and working cruise. Interior is mint and would need a detail only. Headliner is tight and non sagging. $8,000 firm as is before I touch it. 414-688-0604

When the sister sold it to the brother she should have put the 23,000 miles on it no?. That might come back to haunt you. It is a nice car thou. I like it.

This is common on wi titles. Have had many cars with older mileage readings on them. Our registration applications don't ask for current odometer readings.

I can chime in to help with the odometer reading on this car. Here in WI, if you sell a car after it's 10 years old, ALL new titles are listed as mileage exempt.

I have tried countless times to get the actual mileage (with miles of dealer receipts showing correct miles) listed on a title of an older car and our DMVs won't do it. I completely understand where Don is coming from and sadly, in Wisconsin, we have to rely condition and receipts (if available) to verify mileage.

On one hand, the Wisconsin way of doing things is the safer route. Imagine how many guys have bamboozled DMV employees over the years into putting lower "actual" miles on a title with a paper trail that doesn't really match the car being titles, etc. I hope this helps a bit.

a carfax check could document the miles usally when a job was done the miles would be documented. may be worth a check I think an 85 car should be on there.

Agreed..........tried to see if the next Jake (he's 15 now) would be interested as it looks to be a really nice car. He likes the white/maroon T-Type we already have better......

Sorry to hijack the thread on this great car...GLWS
