Dawn and tires

On another forum that I used to read, lots of guys who run slicks without tubes paint Dawn dish detergent on the inside of the tires before they mount them. The idea is it keeps the tires from leaking down. Has anyone ever tried this with street bias ply tires like cheater slicks?

Knew someone that used that trick with a set of the old M&H street slicks and had good results. Just used cheap lemon dishwashing liquid and SOAKED the inside, including sidewall, while rubbing it in with a rag.
