Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend...Karen and I attended a local lake association meeting on Saturday and met a Vietnam veteran. He showed us a laminated card he always carries in his wallet...on the card were the names of his fallen comrades and their position on the "wall" of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, DC. He told me he carries the card so he will think about the guys everyday who didn't come back. He was wounded twice in action...tears came to his eyes as he told us the story of his time in combat and the friends he lost so many years ago.

It was a fitting experience for Memorial Day!

Lest we forget <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/flag.gif

In 2010 my wife and I took the Normandy tour.We visited the U.S.cemetery overlooking Omaha beach at Colleville-Sur-Mer.Very emotional to see thousands of white crosses and a lot of Stars of David. Then we visited a couple of Canadian cemetaries further inland. We owe that generation so much.

This folks............................................. .is a fine example as to why we celebrate this day. Not for motorsports....................not for home improvement discounts......................not even so much for beers at the local parade.

This is the ultimate sacrifice. Sorry if this a little too imposing. Just my opinion and my beliefs <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/flag.gif
