We'll start with something easy.

"At the party she was kindness in the hard crowd.
Consolation for the old wound now forgotten.
Yellow tigers crouched in jungles in her dark eyes.
She's just dressing, goodbye windows, tired starlings."

Whoever guesses right, posts the next one.

And...go.

One more:

Well power shiftin second and a ridin the clutch
My --- --- ---- man she's just too much
When I take her to the drags, man everyone flips
For her big blue eyes and candy apple lips

Well I guess you might say she's a rodders dream
Always there to help when you need a pair.
But when I talk of loving man, some kisses and hugs
She says Why don't you think we'd better just clean and gap the plugs?
Oh Yeah...

Who is she????

It was April the Forty-first, being a quadruple leap year;
I was driving in downtown Atlantis.
My Barracuda was in the shop, so I was in a rented Stingray,
and it was overheating.
So I pulled into a Shell station; they said I'd blown a seal.
I said, "Fix the damn thing and leave my private life out of it, okay, pal?"

When I pass you up on the drag strip you'll know darn well
You've been beat by a porcupine V8 Chevelle

Taching it up now, you better be quick

There's lots of chrome goodies sitting under the hood
She looks real pretty, like a tough one should.
On the redline tires, she sits real mean

Crusing the highways, getting my kicks

Reluctantly crouched at the starting line,
Engines pumping and thumping in time.
The green light flashes, the flags go up.
Churning and burning, they yearn for the cup.
They deftly maneuver and muscle for rank,
Fuel burning fast on an empty tank.
Reckless and wild, they pour through the turns.
Their prowess is potent and secretly stearn.
As they speed through the finish, the flags go down.
The fans get up and they get out of town.

This is a bit of tough one:

I lost a girl it's just as well
She tried to save me from myself
I still got her on my mind
Tossing and turning in my bed

But if she had stayed another week,
I would have dragged her down with me
She took off 'cause she had enough
Is that what I thought love was?

I told her "See you later"
But it's hard to see at all
At the bottom of the barrel
With your back against the wall

I'm not a cool guy anymore
Left it behind and closed the door
I know you can't escape the past
Now I look back and have to laugh

I was my worst enemy
It almost got the best of me
What was I thinking of?
I couldn't stand the way it was

Now I looked in my mirror and I saw somethin' comin',
I thought it was a plane by the way it was a-runnin'.
It was a-hummin' along at a terrible pace,
and I knew right then it was the end of the race.

When it flew by us, I turned the other way,
the guy in the Mercury had nothin' to say,
for it was a kid, in a hopped up Model-A.

Here's a twofer-

I got bruises and hickeys, stitches and scars
Got my own theme music plays wherever I are
Fear is the hand that pulls your strings
You're a useless toy, pitiful plaything

And no.2:

Hot air hangs like a dead man
From a white oak tree
People sittin' on porches
Thinkin' how things used to be

Trick question, RUSH again w/ Little Red Barchetta!
Strange words but I used to love the song also isn't today's day/age when he finds the car?
Growing up in S. Ontario I was lucky enough to see RUSH a few times in the 70's/80's...once or twice w/ Max Webster who really rocked before KM's solo days.

You're right Rick...too many years/beers ago?
What do any of you US guys know of Max Webster as it's often sporadic what Canada groups made it through to the US markets?

Max Webster...as in Kim Mitchell (Go for a soda)?

We saw Kim Mitchell and the Fabulous Thunderbirds open up for Bryan Adams at the Pacific Ampitheater in the "Summer of 85"... I can remember the date clearly as Bryan replaced " Summer of 69" with "Summer of 85"...Kim was wearing all pink...with high top tennis shoes... And was really skinny!

Kim's the greatest guy musically also to talk to in person too but I always preferred the earlier Webster era music over his later 'more poppy' solo career.
Lots of Max Webster links on YouTube, here's one...

Isn't Kim a DJ now at a Toronto radio station?

I thought I read somewhere that he just retired? Or maybe it was a friend who was a radio DJ told me?
