I just converted the fluorescent lights to LED's . It really made a difference. The tubes are manufactured by a family owned business named Hyperikon located in San Diego. The cost per tube was just over $18 and installation was very simple. I am in the process of converting all of the lights in the house to LEDs. Bulbs can be purchased through amazon with free shipping and no sales tax. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/beers.gif Jim

Costco had replacement 48" tubes that plugged right in and they also had complete fixtures, 48" with two bulbs.

The replacements I used required removal of the ballast, replacement of the tombstones which were supplied.

The time you spent removing the ballasts could have been used on a nice three hour drive to Costco... <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/grin.gif

Paid an electrician friend $100 to change all 12. Even though gas is $2.25 here it was better than 6 hours on the road. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif

Dang I drove to Hays Ks. to pickup a rear end 1025 mi roundtrip in a day, was a good ride. Altough I got sick of Oklahoma (normal reaction from a Texan)

Lynn, lets not start a war <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif what I meant is spent 15 hours driving and 12 or more was Oklahoma. I can get plenty sick of seeing Texas too or any state for that matter in that time frame
now if you want to throw some insults back and forth(all in good fun!)we can start our own thread in lounge
