Sorry fellas...a bit of a donut an off to the races as below.
At least we always called it doing donuts or 'cutting' donuts where I grew up but my buddy from out west called them circle turns...you guys?

1969 Camaro RS/SS
Car is an original 396/375HP, L78 4 speed with 26,ooo original miles. Factory triple black, strip delete cowl hood car…
I have copies of title history, car shipper, dealer invoice and loads of other paperwork. Factory triple black strip delete car with factory installed cowl hood… has original engine and rear end, Trans was replaced with a new one years ago. This car is not restored but was painted once around mid-90’s bumpers were re-plated around Mid- 00’s… Car has spent its whole life in various indoor heater & air condtioned building’s as part of some high end private collections.….wow what a time capsule, survivor car!!!!
This car is believed to be one of one built by GM since it is such a high optioned car.
Optioned from the factory as follows:
Special paint
Posi-traction
Special 4 speed m-22 ( was replaced at some point w/ correct non # matching unit )
Tinted glass all
375 hp engine ( original born with # matching)
Vinyl roof cover
Rally wheels ( were dealer installed option )
AM FM radio
Camaro SS pkg.
Special ducted hood
Rally Sport
Aux. Lighting
Special interior group
Door Edge guards
Center console
Air spoiler
4:10 Ratio ( original born with date code correct rear end )
Special instruments
Options added to this car after it was delivered
Cushion grip steering wheel
Power steering ( all original parts present )
Endura bumper ( original Bumper present )
15x7 chrome torque thrust with BFG radial T/A ( new )
I took the car as partial trade on a sale of 2 vehicles so I know nothing about its history except for the paperwork supplied to me... This car does appear to have had some small items changed and replaced with as close to original as possible parts, such as a reproduction carb. BTW the original carb is in the trunk, but it could use restored....
... included is the rally wheels and red line tires that I will let go with the car…
I will try my best to answer any and all questions and I really encourage serious buyers to come look at this car, pictures don’t do it justice but keep in mind it is a 40 year old car so it is being sold “ as is, with no warranty expressed or implied “. I do have it for sale on different venues so I reserve the right to end this auction early.. papal deposit of $1000.00 within 24 hrs of end of auction will hold the car for 14days after auction. Balance due payable with Bank check or wire transfer within 14 days to complete sale. I can work with anyone needing the car held longer for pickup after receipt of full payment, I will also work to help ship the vehicle at purchasers expense…
This is a serious car for a serious collector and I do know what it is worth so don’t waste my time and I won’t waste yours, I will entertain the thought of partial trades on the right muscle cars, Keep in mind I don"t have to get rid of it so this is not a fire sale !!!!!

Thanks guys....I was astounded when I saw the car....I took a few bad pics and a pic of the docs...must be a low production number car....owner's a nice guy that doesn't know too much about camaros...He actually won the car along with a black 2012 720 HP SS and 30k to pay taxes on both cars!!!! ...car is over restored, but really stunning....It has stripes now though...???

Why would an 05C build date be a special paint for a black car, when much earlier cars had code 10??

I believe that car was in Hemmings at one time and I talked to the owner who was around Cincinnati. Later it was one of the dream car raffles.

So car is the real deal !!! I could not believe it..I thought it was a black primer Rs ss when I saw just the rear end of the car in the garage ....until I went over and said hi to the owner...
The car has all the smog, etc..w a flowmaster exhaust ??? Why not put chambered?? Also glossy fender wells and rad support...but overall beautiful car..now w 28k miles..the owner drives it on nice days
....a few questions....the flat black rear panel is correct on black car??? What about the rockers?? Did they get flat black...And how can we tell it was stripe delete??? Car now has stripes...i think it looks better w the stripes

Because of the dash ( - ) on an 05C car...a black car would have used '10' by that time in the production year as it was no longer a special order color as it was up to OCT.(?) OR NOV. (?). But because there's no 10, then the only other special paint request on a black car (Z28 or SS) would be 'stripe delete'

Dark colored cars wouldn't have the rear tail panel or rockers painted that satin black. If this car has it now, i would say it is incorrect...

Not so. There was a original 10 10 69 Camaro car at MCACN about three years ago ? All original paint. The back panel was clearly painted a different gloss level, it was especially noticeable under the trunk lid near the seal and there was a distinct tape line.
On black cars this may be hit and miss ? But there have been several like this one.
I thought I had a photo and now I can't find it. I know Shauger has seen the car.

The car was in a collection in WI at one time; I saw it here in the '90s.

I think it was about 3 years ago in hemmings. I think I saved the ad. I will check. As odd as that car is, when I saw one like it as the dream car raffle I assumed it was the same one.

Hey Mike, Is the tail panel on your Camaro painted a different black?? I remember reading somewhere that black and dark colored cars were not painted that satin black on the rear panel, which makes sense because the blacked out panel wouldn't show up very well. The only dark colors that come to mind are black, fathom green, burnished brown and maybe dusk blue. Anyone out there ever seen the rear satin black panels of BB Camaros painted with these colors??

Can't go by my car, original paint was gone when I got it.
Here is a thread where they are talking about the black cars tail panel, to bad all the pic's are gone. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/mad.gif
The one car is the one I saw @ MCACN.
Black tail panel (http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=7348.0)
Here is the sill blackout exceptions, these dark colors only omitted the sill, not the tail panel.
It is also noted here that a few Black cars have the low gloss tail.

Sorry to revive such an old thread. Anyone know where this car is now? I was at a friend's in the Cincy area today who owed this car for years. He showed me copies he kept of all the docs and original titles. Neat car. Thanks

It's interesting how Chevy did things compared to other GM brands. In Pontiacs, it's a special-order color. For Oldsmobiles, it could be an extra-cost color. And the mere opportunity to delete the stripes also gives a Chevy dashes on the data plate. Not sure I'd call it "special-order paint" but it's interesting nonetheless.
