Bought this yesterday....'74 Malibu Classic, 3 owner. 33,200 Real mileage. Original Paint + / - 65°„„ AC car as a possible Day 2 Tow Car for my '69Z.

What's it worth ?
I gotta add the compressor , do a R 134 conversion.
Dressed up 350 4 brrl. SS Duals. Tight. Smooth car with immaculate interior and trunk compartment.
Old lady sold it to 2 nd Owner coming to Pa from South Western Ohio. Very Clean car.

Not sure on value, but I like it. Those 73-77 A-bodies were nice driving cars.

Yep, It was between this or a mid 70's Monte Carlo.

The funny thing is, The Wife Likes it and her Birthday is the 22nd...

A Day 2 Tow Car maybe its future. ????

$5000 - $6000.

Here's a nice Laguna that didn't sell at $5600:

and another that didn't sell at $7100:

I am thinking of selling my original owner '74 and have been watching the market.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your perspective) there are some nice, clean '73-'77 cars out there that are not selling for very much.

You can check out my car here: http://www.hotrod.com/cars/featured/1005phr-1974-chevrolet-chevelle/

if you would be interested in a matching race car with 41 years of known history.

Not sure what it's worth but I'm looking for one. My Grandmother had a red 74 4 door. Lots of good memories of that car.

We took a drive early this morning to take a look at and drive this GTO. Had a quickie respray in a different color at some point in it's life. Seller's description was really honest...but the car wouldn't stay running, fuel starvation issue. Per his description, needed LOTS of work. Had sold on ebay once before for right around $10.5K but the seller backed out of the deal. Just apparently sold again for $10,950? This is above the Hemmings High average for a car in better condition than this one <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/beers.gif

Too bad its not a 454-400....I'd keep it as a tow car.

I had out last night for its first cruise-in at our local Sonic....garnered lottsa attention and compliments in a field of Hot Muscle Cars and show cars. ....

People do appreciate a low mile clean piece....

After Lottsa research and Q&A with Classic Car Guides and Insurance companies
The Value exceeds $8800 benefitting with the Low Mileage and Mostly Original Body, Paint & Interior, Chrome ,Glass etc.

With that said and my Question of being a suitable Day 2 Tow Car thread , which consensus on this site says No.......
I've decided to place the Malibu up for sale .....

I'll Post it here instead of eBay......as it has had such a warm reception.

Thanks for your input and the many PM's...
Tom

Day2 - can you confirm for me if those rally wheels are 7" or 8" wide?

Thanks in advance -

Keith, they 7" , the "classic Monte Carlo wheel" as they're referred to. They are nearly identical to
69Z/28 wheels except the code & date.

These types of cars need the 8" wheels in my opinion as they are in to far because of the factory 4 1/4 " Back Space.

A 3 1/2 " BS or 8" '68-72 Corvette wheels are the TICKET,,,,, to Fit and Fill the Wheel wells.
