Eons ago, in that time called my youth, ahhh youth (I digress), I acquired all kinds of parts for my 69. Around 1980, a friend came up with a set of chrome tip T.pipes to trade me out of something I had. He was good friends with the parts Mngr. @ Campbell County Chev (Ky.) Years later and after poor storage, I dig them out for a CRG post. I am told that they are nothing special at the time. Recently, a few asked if I would part with them. I probably will as I do not have a late dated 69 (post May 69). Doing a little research, I am convinced these are actual assembly line pieces. Why? The Rh has no flange to clamp on to the transverse muffler for one (factory Rh welded) and the Lh, it has the Chrome dipped up so far with no welded on tip end evidence of assembly line again. Would like some opinions (educated) and if these would have more value over NOS or over the counter (I would assume)?
They are very solid and would clean up, I believe. To avoid confusion, I will put another 2 posts with LH in one, RH in other. Thanks sYc.

You're correct-that is apparently the OE configuration for chrome tailpipes. RH was 2 pc welded; nickel/chrome tip. LH was a polished standard 1 pc tailpipe then flash-chromed.

Cars built as late as September '69 have this tailpipe configuration. No idea if/when production changed over to the 2 pc LH pipe. I had several sets of 2nd design service tailpipes back in the day and they were both 2 pc.

William, got to give you the props as it was your earlier postings and knowledge and research of the topic that helped convince me these were more than just an over the counter replacement set. Thank you.

Thanks much!
