Working on one of my odd ball cars.

Replacing the water pump and some 50 year old hoses (just a little brittle).

Figured while I was into the cooling system, I would replace the t-stat.

The one I took out is a Delcostat 180 Degree, all brass. Mind you, it is still working fine, but I have NO IDEA how old it is.

It is just slightly larger than a 60's GM t'stat. The bas is right at 2.3125 inches, or 2 5/16. For you metric guys, it is just under 59mm.

I have looked with my limited interweb expertise (very limited... been told I am an internet tard), but can't find ANYWHERE that lists thermostats by dimensions. Other than the wider seating flange, it looks just like an old GM thermostat.

Any ideas?

I think I have this handled.
The NAPA store had a book of t-stats by dimensions, and an understanding and helpful employee. Gotta love the small town atmosphere here in Guthrie.

Although none were 2 5/16 (or 2.3125) there was one that showed to be a bit larger, but it had a built in "O" ring on it.

Application showed it was for a Cummins turbo diesel truck engine.

I removed the built in "O" ring and it is right at 2.3125.

Not sure why I am posting this, as hopefully there aren't any other knuckleheads on this site working on such an odd ball engine.
