Does anyone have any advice on when to install the lower windshield molding on a 70 Nova. Is it best to install before the fenders go on, or is after ok. If I remember correctly the outer clip is harder to get on with fenders installed.

I know a 69 outer clip is different, 69 Camaro/Nova lower molding can go on and off anytime. I was asked to help a friend remove and replace the lower molding on a 70 Nova and I could not access those outer clips ?
Someone here should know more about this ? Here is a 69 clip that you can gain access to anytime with the door open from inside.

Think you have to take off the cowl vent grill.

Don't know about 69 But 70 like the pic. above needs to be installed before the fender.
Don't ask me how I know this.
If someone knows how to get in there with the fender installed I would be interested as to how.

The picture above is a 69 and it can be accessed with the fender on, done it many times, it is the 70 that is a problem.

Bob,
You answered your own question. While the outer clip attaching bolt is easy to get at,(in the door jamb)sneaking the clip/moulding around the corner and between the glass and fender is difficult. If you are working with a freshly painted car I would not attempt it. Install all your windshield trim first then cowl panel/fenders.

Thanks for all the input. I will install before the fenders go on. Its nice to have a group of people share all their knowledge to help others.
