This was my first musclecar.. used as my daily driver until I narrowly missed a construction barrel with that original hood! I traced it to the original owner family and selling dealer in Sikeston, Missouri. Unusual in that it was a post car loaded with options. Still around KC and restoration I started is still unfinished..

I had a chance to buy a Ralley 350 post once and chose a L34 4 spd 69 Chevelle, the ralley 350 still runs around town never restored still original WEAK paint.

There's a 1970 Rallye 350 post coupe around here (Western Suburbs of Chicago) that attends a lot of cruise nights. The owner has a lot of Oldsmobiles. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif

Mike,

You are correct.....I have seen the Rallye 350 in our area many times.....a cool Olds Post Sedan.

Everyone ALWAYS wanted to race me in this.. and it wasn't that fast! It was optioned like a regular fancy old Cutlass. PS PB Air, AM radio, 3.23 Anti-Spin, carpeting, Rally Pack gauges.. had the B-80 or B-90 window trim. It was fun with the bench seat and column shift.. the son of the dealer owner ordered his high performance cars at the dealership. He said the post cars were cheaper so he ordered them with more options and put them on the showroom floor.

I always wanted a stripper rubber mat bench seat 4 speed 3.91 gear Rallye....
Think there was 1,020 F-85 post coupe Rallye's like this one.....

Thanks for thinking of me Ryan. And much like CJJeff, I always wanted a Rallye 350 post with no options but a 4-speed.

Cool cars, I built an AMT model of one in 1970 when I was a kid.

I bought this car out of the KC Star newspaper ad.. it was missing the steering wheel, gauge package and had a 71 or 72 under dash 8 track player. I found a guy locally who had a wheel for it so when I went to see him he had 3 Rallye 350's! One was a bench seat rubber floor mat 4 speed stripper with what we thought was a 3.91 gear. That would have been fun!

Was it an old guy named Jerry with the Ralley's? He talked about owning 3 or 4 at a time and you described the rubber mat car he always talked about

He passed a couple years ago..no family that cared about his stuff..it all went to auction..and did lousey...last month i saw the remainders still for sale on CL..now going on 2 years....he had a ralley in his auction he swore was a W31 car..of course no documentation

i bought more cool stuff thru the KC Star decades ago than a person could imagine..including a yellow (goldenrod or daytona) 69 Judge for 700 bux....wasnt advertised as a judge..just a "yeller 69 GTO"...and probably 30+ GTOs out of there...including a 2 page build sheet Liberty Blue GTO..

I found a 67 Ram Air I covertible firebird and a Black with red interior 70 Judge..3 6Pak Roadrunners..1 Six pak 71 Superbee and on and on...i turned them all, or bird dogged them, made a ton of money..and regret selling them every day..

KC is/was a huge closet Mopar town..lots of Hemi and 6 paks around..

i bought buildings full of parts out of KC...ahhh the good old days....i had 3 storage buildings in KC and 3 between STL and KC back then..always buying cars and stashing them
