Cool license plates...

I dig finding old license plates for potential use or just to hang. I had a 1970 Missouri plate that was 440-something. A guy locally had a 1970 Road Runner and bought it. I have a Missouri Highway Patrol plate that is 289-HP. I knew you guys would like this one.. its just 10 years too late!

Found this mint steel plate sitting in a collection recently.
The year displayed is the year the plate expired,so perfect fit for my Oct. 69 Missouri assembled 1970 L-78 Chevelle.

I agree, but have to think there may have been one issued.

Actually, just looked it up, and DZ was not used. CV was one of several used for Cleveland County, just South of OKC, contains city of Norman, home of the Sooners.

This weekend we had a cruise night just off I-70 and Little Blue Parkway in Independence, Missouri that supposedly had over 3,000 cars. I just missed the 70 phantom Superbird convertible that has my 440-xxx 1970 Missouri plate. Lots of good plates and I like that 70 Z in green! Love the short early rear spoiler!

Sorry I don’t have a picture, but when CA started doing personalized license plates in blue/gold (I think late ‘70s) my friend’s older sister got one for her 1st gen Camaro SS. She was like 5 years older than us, and she was in high school at the time. Her name was/is Anita. She ordered, and actually received, the custom license plate for her Camaro that read “ANITASS”.

My great Uncle Leo was the first Superman Comic Series Artist here in Cleveland, Oh. The state of Ohio has come out with a plate honoring Superman.

I just saw this last Labor Day Weekend at a local marina. Hopefully my next car will have a Superman Plate with a clever personalization.

Cool '68 Illinois Dealer plate below went cheap on eBay yesterday, great patina for the front of a survivor Z-28.
I sent the link to a site member w/ a '68 Z-28 a few days before, not sure who got it but cool plate whoever did.
Very similar to the original 302 Ohio plate John M. scored here a year or so ago seen on page one of this thread.

Search 'show n go license plate' on eBay. Might be something you want to consider Jeff. If AZ was a front plate state, I would have installed one of these on my Camaro.

I don't see the ad for the YS-2 plate now so if not ended already, hope it found its right home...especially being a '66 plate!

my neighbor worked at the Secretary of State's office and pulled the plates out of sequence (before the real personalized plates) for me knowing I had a 302 in my 56

I've noticed a lot of custom California black plates lately on LA craigslist. Somebody is ordering them and then trying to sell them off. They all seem to be geared towards muscle car combinations. I didn't think you could just order a plate from the DMV or AAA and sit on it. From what I understood it has to be assigned to a vehicle in a certain amount of time, otherwise you forfeit them. It's an interesting twist on somebody trying to make money. I would think if the State actually knew this was going on they would nix it. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/hmmm.gif
