Vintage road racing...

Anyone here do vintage road racing? I was thinking of getting an old Triumph TR6 and do a little vintage racing with it. Do you know if the vehicle you're racing has to have a history of racing or can you race one that has never been raced before?

I follow vintage racing and attend many events, but I do not race myself. Laguna Seca is strict about only allowing cars with documented race history and limited modern technology. CVAR here in Texas is very strict about racing with modern technology, but you can convert a car to a race car as no race history is needed. Road America will allow lots of modifications to cars to allow for modern technology and you can build a race car as no history is required. I like Laguna Seca cars best as they all should have history and they're not NASCAR cars under their skin. Road America is a blast as the cars are rocket ship fast. Check with Florida vintage race clubs. A TR6 is a blast, I'll be at the last ever vintage race at Texas World Speedway this weekend and there will be a bunch of British cars there, they are fun to watch.

Yes, I'm not too, too far from Sebring so I'll have to see what they offer in the way of vintage racing. And yes, I have always like the "bulldog" TR6's and they're within a reasonable budget surprisingly.

I will be at TWS this weekend as well for the supposed last vintage race at TWS. I will have Yenko Stinger YS-199 there.

They are supposedly going to bulldoze the track to build lots of houses.
