Yes, that is the car. The guy on facebook is Mike Lucas. he owned the car from 1976 to 1978. It was sold and parked from 1978 to 2002.

When it was found and sold in 2002 is was thought to be a Yenko or copo at that time but the new owner never done any research. All he was concerned about was having a rust fee body to build. The car was restored and painted silver and had a ZL1 427 installed.

Not until 2009 when the car was sold back to the guy who found it in 2002. It was then research and discovered to be a real copo.

This 69 Camaro COPO was also on display at the Mecum Auction in Indianapolis and is a part of the J. Wickey Collection that will be sold in Seattle. This is N644119 and was sold new at Roger Dean in Charleston WV. According to the description it is a 17K mile ex drag car that was in storage from 1978 to 2002 and recently restored. The complete history is known and it was certified by J.M. It has a replacement block and it's original BE rearend. There was no mention about the transmission.

Your welcome.

That picture was taken at a drive-in restaurant in Rainelle,WV around June/July 1969. when the car was only a few weeks old by the orignal owner.
While researching the history of the car we found out that the restaurant was still in bussiness in 2010. It was called J&S or M&S.
We had planned on hauling the car back to that same parking lot and taking a picture with five of the Previous owners from back in the day but we never took the time to do so.

Those Pictures are awesome. The people look like they enjoyed the car. It pulled the wheels, COOL. Sitting on blocks at Mecun Auction looks depressing. It was a car to be driven. Now it is just so en soes trophy.

The COPO was bought by a friend several years back in VA. It was silver with a ZL1 in it and in real nice shape . He detailed it, bought a complete CE 1969 427 from me that dynoed at about 485HP ,and replaced the ZL1.I believe he sold the ZL1 separately Car was absolute pristine when he finished. It sold to someone who then brought it to Mecum, where it sold again. I believe Hendricks Chevrolet was the one that bought it at Mecum the first time .

After restoration the VA owner ran it through Barrett Jackson. He said the tires never stopped rolling across the stage it was hammered sold so fast, he was not happy. I believe Hendricks was the buyer at that time.

... I think that this is when it sold at Barrett-Jackson ( Not MECUM )

... and went for $117,700 ( including buyers premium )

... Here is the link..... ( please correct me if I am wrong )

Yes BJ first , then Mecum. It sold well under value at BJ and even at 155K mecum sale it was a deal , the car is spectacular.
