Anything is possible back then but I don't think they were but you can see the black walls on the 67 W/Disc so at least they are an option. There may be other to chose from but I don't see them in the Dealer album either...it tells me to go to the finger facts book. I will look at 66 dealer invoice and see if any other tire or size is offered. I did not see any on the 67 dealer form.

66/67 Dealer forms in a few different ways with the tire size in WW and BW same through out in both years.
Also 66 L79 on a dealer order form and a 67 dealer order form with NO L79 0n it.

Man Dave, you've got a lot of cool documents. I guess your not named nova boy for nothing.
Thanks Dave and mark for making me feel better about doing the tires I'd like even though it's a bit of a stretch. I think the correct rallys, marina blue paint, and redlines are going to look pretty cool on this car.
I appreciate all the help.

Oh, and those 67 order forms are cool. I'd read u couldn't order an L79 in 67 but hadn't ever seen the sheets before. That is pretty neat.

One more thing...does anyone know what size the trim rings are on these rallys?
14X?
I see varying sizes online. 2.5, 1.75, 1.5, etc.

My 67 SS is a factory Disc brake car and I have 6" trim rings on the 14 X 5 DA rims...ones with the OPEN valve stem hole. I have bigger tires on the car now...If your going to run the rims then D or E70X14 in front and F70X14 in rear to give a better footprint. That Marina Blue 67 SS looks to have F70 all around. Nothing beats that bias squared look that they give. Love the RED lines!!
The trim ring depth is 2"

dave, you think those are f70's on that car? we were thinking about putting d70's on mine bc of them being a little skinnier, so as to not look to "big" or wide on the 14X5's.
but, if that car has f70's then i very well may do that. theres nothing about that car i would change...nothing.
let me know, or anybody else for that matter.

Hi there!
Yes, the 6.95-14's are available.
Tom Payne has the F70-14 Polyglas on his '66 L-79 car at the Pure Stocks. Plenty of tire all around. E70-14's would be good size to go with.

So does anyone know what size is on that blue car that Dave posted?
67 Nova Boy
11-15-2015, 07:57 PM
If you look at the trim rings...{Marina Blue}they look like 7" all the way around {Closed valve stem hole}. There is no way he is running 7" rims in the front as I have 6" in front and & 7" in rear with F70 fronts and G70 in rear so I will say for the 5" DA rims all the way around...you can run F70 on all 4. My F70 in fronts are tight but never have rubbed with stock front end and 6" rims so with a 5" rim you should be fine. I don't know if the Disc puts the tire out any? Does not look like it on either Blue cars in the pictures I posted. They Both have factory Disc brakes on the front.

The 1967 Chevy II order form is missing the 195 horsepower 283, which was definitely available, so what is to say that not having the L79 listed is not a mistake too? <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/dunno.gif

Imagine how quickly you could burn through the rears on this car on Day 1. Just mash the gas pedal down in 1st and hang on!
These wheels look shallow on the outside. Reminds me of '67 disc Camaros, SS vs. non-SS. 14x5s for non-SS and 6s for SS and both shallow-faced. Marina Blue car looks like deeper wheels?

Yes...good eye! The Deep water Blue 67 has the DA factory 5" rims as the Marina has 6" rims all around {I think} Maybe 7" in rear.

The 195 HP V/8 was not an optional engine in 1967. If you wanted a V/8 in the Chevy II 100 series you ordered a 114, in a Nova 400 it was 116, and SS 118. There was a designated V/8 model number for each series and the 195 HP/283 was the engine all V/8 cars came with unless an optional V/8 was ordered. Four and six cylinders were similarly designated by model number. The engines on the order sheet are the optional engines. Hope this makes sense.

Good question Dave. I'm wanting to do Redlines that are the closest in size to the 6.95 factory tires, im pretty sure, and on my stock DA rims. So what would u recommend?
By the way, your black car looks crazy good. I love that red stripe with the red lines.
