Hi Gang,

For sale here is a friend's 1969 Corvette Coupe. Current ownership tenure is about 20 years!

Car retains its original motor and trim tag. Photos below. Color combination is as represented - cortez silver with a black standard interior. I did not get a chance to view the differential or transmission but have been told they're too original. Options are obscure: L46 350/350 with special cam, 4 speed, rear window defogger, pop out rear window, power steering, t-tops. Upgrades include a fast ratio steering box, adjustable rear camber bars, Hurst shifter and audio jack for modern phone plug in and Viper alarm system. Body appears to be no-hit and in several key spots, all factory original part numbers are present in the fiberglass.

For the asking price of $20k negotiable, you're getting a superb candidate for drive/enjoy now and restore later. The vast majority of the hardware, straps, vacuum lines, hoses, clamps and factory configuration of such is untouched! Carpet is original and should be replaced and there are chips, cracks, blemishes in the paint, otherwise it is a fun driving Corvette. I personally drove her about 15-20 mins and had a great time! Car is not far from JFK Airport.

Let me know if I can answer any questions.

Thanks,
Dan

Tell me this isn't a great car for someone that wants to get into the hobby for under $20,000. You also have a fun ride and a good car for drive-in shows. I love the 350/350 motor. Nice car.

That is a screaming deal for $18k.

I am out of space or else I would pull the trigger and endure the argument with the wife. Some things are just worth it!

Photos of transmission stamp, diff stamp and under car.

Vin is present on the trans. Original M20 trans. 7/3/1969. Also has a 621 bellhousing.

There is scale on the frame but I did not see any areas of severe damage or rot through the frame. The bird cage from the cabin of the car appeared to be clean and through the kick panel vents the traditional green primer paint was present. Original GM 9 leaf rear spring!

Looks like the frame should clean up with a little work, and still a great deal.

You're freaking me out with those shopping carts next to that 70 Chevelle though...

Edumacation for a 'vette dummy <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/crazy.gif......... Is this a solid lifter engine? and, is the next option up, a 427? I'm thinking a true 350 horse engine should be plenty of motivation for this car (how much does it weigh?).

Thanks! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/3gears.gif

Hi Sam, this is a hydraulic lifter motor. Its rated at 350 and when built/tuned right is plenty of fun! Curb weight is about 3100lbs for the small block coupe. Next option would be a 427ci/390hp (4bbl).

Thanks,
Dan

Actually there were two 350's offered in 1969; the L46 350 / 350 and the base 350/300 horse motor (don't know the code for it)

How about we exercise restraint when posting and refamiliarize ourselves with the forum rules in regards to for sale ad commentary. A simple PM would have been far more sincere and appropriate.

Being said, the brake lines are fine. The car stopped without error. It is a driver and a good one at that. Let's not criticize a good car because a photo appears a certain way.

The 350/350 is a very nice combination, plenty of power and it looks good under the hood. I still think this is a cool car for the price, I don't know the seller at all. Good chassis shots, I've cleaned up my share of Corvette chassis and this one would clean up well.

I loved my 69 L46 Coupe, 350/350 4 spd M21 and 4.11's Daytona Yellow - one of the few cars I wish I still had. Great fun to drive and IMHO the best year of the C3's in terms of styling and engine options.

Hi Tim, yes it is. Because of the poor weather we've postponed an effort to sell but my friend would still very much like to let it go. I'll PM you my #.

Just told my wife, the more I look at this car, the more I think it is worth the money, and would be a great car to own. My bet is it sells as soon as, if not before the weather breaks. And I wholeheartedly agree with the forum rules. I have done business with Dan and it went 110% smooth and pleasant. Good luck with the sale Dan.

The ’69 corvette arrived in Austin yesterday. A good friend of my brother who is a first time Corvette owner bought this one. He was looking at a bunch of marginal Corvettes when he contacted me and I directed him to this one.

The car is great, Dan did a great job of describing this one to us. It does need lots of little things fixed, but we knew that going in. This is a nice original ’69 Corvette that sold for an entry level price, it’s gone to a good home. The new owner had already ordered a carpet set, but the original may be able to be saved with a clean-up and dye job.

I was there for the delivery and I told the new owner that if he has any buyers remorse, I would take the car off his hands, he smiled and refused my offer.

Hi Tim,

It was a pleasure working with you and Shane. I can't wait to see this one brought to the next level. With some patients, a working budget and time it will be dialed in very well! Shane sent me pics stating the "Eagle has landed" and it couldn't be more true.

Congrats to the TX crew for another great Vette.

Dan
